I trusted Labour more when they were a lot uglier and dishevelled.
|
That's it then. Cameron is PM.
|
I was quietly hoping Cameron might have been able to strike a pact with n''k
|
i didn't have a knife large enough to stab him in the back with unfortunately :(
i could have beat him to death with a copy of phillip blond's red tory but then the void between his semi facist masterplan and reality will intervene in much the same way |
According to the Labour Party website:
"A record number of people are currently trying to join! Please try again in 5 minutes." |
Quote:
Shouldn't the so-called "record number of people" joined before the election? |

am i the only one who got a bit misty-eyed during Brown's resignation speech tonight.
|

I did too. I actually think Brown was a good Prime Minister. And he's not a phoney like Cameron, he's a serious person. He's dignified. |

how long will they last, you reckon? can they dissolve as quickly as italian or israeli governments? or is this a set term? (sorry, i am ignorant of this). also: the news reminded me today that you guys have a queen. haa ha haa ha haa. |

We don't have a set term though the terms are limited to five years. Normally terms last for about four years. But as this a hung parliament and the Conservatives are going to be sharing power with the Liberal Democrats, it's quite possible that an election could be called within the next year, or a few months. Depends how badly things go. I really don't have a strong opinion on how long it will last. The Lib Dems are in policy pretty different to the Conservatives. I just hope people will have seen enough of how shit the Conservatives are to not vote them in again in the next election. Don't diss our Queen!!!! |
actually im gonna save that for an album cover

It was weird. I don't think it was the fact that Brown alone was leaving, but his speech sort of felt like a final epitaph to the New Labour project as a whole - especially as it came soon after watching Mandelson and Campbell walking away down the road. For better or worse it did feel very much like the end of something pretty major. Quote:
Noone knows yet but it's predicted to be atleast three or four years. Personally I think it'll collapse before then and we'll have another election in a year or two, and then who knows? To be honest, my views on the whole thing are flip flopping all over the place - apart from the utter revulsion I felt watching Cameron enter No 10. That hasn't altered a bit. Quote:
We do? Fuck, I forgot about her. How did she look? Queenish? |
Quote:
Yeah, you're right. Maybe this has been a pretty significant period in politics. It is pretty sad. I've got hope for David Milliband though. I really like Alastair Campbell too, though I think he said on the news today that he will still have some involvement with the party, which would be good. |

i see. yeah, i read they were going to form a coalition w/ labor but the top sucka decided to lick the tory ass instead. anyway, i wasn't dissing the queen, but the people who have one! "ask the queen permission to form a government". funniest shit ever. you guys not embarrassed? |
Quote:
Yeah. Though the Tories got more seats in parliaments so it's kind of fair. Quote:
Not really, it's "quaint". And anyway, it brings in American tourists and their dollars. |
