I never thought about that.

Axl was the best thing Husker Du ever had. Use Your Zen Arcade Illusion In A Metal Circus II is GENIUS.

HaydenAsche 03.27.2006 08:38 PM

I was kind of pissed when they replaced Axl with Henry Rollins.

schizophrenicroom 03.27.2006 08:39 PM

I know. Henry couldn't do that sway like Axl. But at least he looked damn good in the tutu when they collaborated with that Russian ballet during '93.

HaydenAsche 03.27.2006 08:41 PM

Very true. He'd been practicing years when he was in the Ramones and in Spandex.

Hey don't hate on Rollins! He used to play in Pink Flag. Or was it Black Wire?

Yellow Spandex. Close!

He was kickass in the Ramones when he'd dance with Joey and sing "Total Eclipse Of The Heart" and slamdance in pink catsuits around the stage.

HaydenAsche 03.27.2006 08:44 PM

It was the Ramones. He played flute on a Sex Pistols record as well.

John Violence 03.27.2006 08:46 PM

I thought it was Mike Jones who played flute for the Sex Pistols.

sellouteater 03.27.2006 08:46 PM

I love the flute

schizophrenicroom 03.27.2006 08:50 PM

Flutes are awesome. As are skinflutes.

I played flute for the Sex Pistols once.

HaydenAsche 03.27.2006 08:50 PM

Mike Jones played flute on the Sex Pistols/Clash Split Bullocks Calling.

TheDom 03.27.2006 08:51 PM

The flute is a sellout.

I still have their orignal foot-long on turd-burglar vinyl.

sellouteater 03.27.2006 08:52 PM

your mom is a sellout

John Violence 03.27.2006 08:53 PM

True Fact - Mike Jones says his own name 98 times in his CD. A friend of mine tallied it through the whole CD. Pretty Sad.

TheDom 03.27.2006 08:54 PM

YOUR mom is a sellout.

schizophrenicroom 03.27.2006 08:56 PM

During Chuck Norris's spoken word album, Johnny Rotten is in the background, and they just go "ROUNDHOUSE!" for an hour on end. Torture.

HaydenAsche 03.27.2006 08:57 PM

I bet its the best cd ever though. He scares people into liking it.

I am going to call Mike Jones right now

TheDom 03.27.2006 08:57 PM

Torture? I rather like that LP.

Diana Ross joins in at some point.

I've been wondering the same thing. I always hear SY talk about these very underground films, & I always wanted to know where to find them.

schizophrenicroom 03.27.2006 09:46 PM

It's Kevin Smith's first film, and a very awesome film.

marley- I know. I am envious of their ability to somehow know every underground film evarrr.

marleypumpkin 03.27.2006 11:31 PM

schizophrenicroom:

All you have to do is look at SY's videos, & you know they are some arthouse film buffs. (sorry for not replying sooner)

I heard that they had a special cinema erected in Steve's garden just so that the band could enjoy the eight-hour Finnish-Latvian epic 'Aarti Housen Sinemaa', which chronicles, in real-time, the eight hour working day of a young man employed in a tractor factory.

Movies on The Web say:

During the course of the film, the lead character Aaki attaches 1209 rivets to the various tractors that come down the production line, pausing only twice to visit the toilet and to have his sandwiches (for which he is admonished by his supervisor). The experience of watching the film has been likened to having 1209 rivets driven into your own skull, gradually removing the viewer's will to live.

Arty Movies on The Web say:

During the course of the film one is taken through all the emotions, each rivet seems like a new high in the art of representational cinematographic history. One is both dismayed and exhilerated at the same time in this classic of Finno-Latvic cinema. A wonderfully inventive allegory of Nazism and the European Union, this epic was recently voted second best film ever made, behind the 1929 Russian classic 'The Ducks Have Flown to Moscow'.
