Sort of working my way through Gilligan's Island. Some parts definitely don't hold up to current social norms.

Preacher had started! Season 3 episode 1 was good. Closer to comics in terms of timelines and whatnot. But having Angelville act as the big second-to-last-season arc is a bit weird, since that part is done by the end of the first fifth of the comic timelines. Oh well. Love it. Good stuff.
ALSO... HBO has this show called “BARRY” about a hitman who takes an acting class. It’s just the kind of black comedy I love (see Fargo, Grosse Point Blanke, etc.) and Bill Hader is actually funny as hell. Not to mention the Fonz! Henry Winkler’s in it! And he’s hilarious! |
Great double episode of The Expanse to end this season. Ambiguous ending that could either lead to a 4th season (I hope) or end it. Pretty smart sci-fi, good writing, acting and with a lot of good special effects. One that the art dept had some fun with, I'm sure
plus, Cara Gee |
With GLOW season 2 available to stream, that's my focus for the next little while

Fucking love this. It's just easy but also really well done. I've actually yet to meet someone who doesn't like this. I was once an Alison Brie man, but now I'm a Betty Gilpin. Oh and Sam's daughter. Marone. |

Whoah what?! YES! That’s what’s after I finish the (result fucking long for some reason) Westworld season 2 finale. (Maybe finale overall? We’re way past the Crighton book now it seems. But I guess we kinda started out way past the book.) YEAH GLOW!!! |
Yes Minister My favourite sit-com of all time. Did it have any impact in the US? |
^^ first time i even hear of it and we watch a lot of british tv
will look it up & see — amazon rents it for 2 bucks per episode... but maybe they’ll add it to prime video at some point |

Finished it last night. So, so good. Shower scene and Sam's daughter aside it's just been so good to watch. Nice bit of escapism. |

thanks |
found the actual episode 1 of yes minister on youtube
it was funny, but way too clever, by which i mean... that poor fucker getting henpecked to death lolol it’s too true! too real! it’s like... work!! so i can’t laugh completely—it leaves me a bitter feeling ha ha ha. i hate reality. kinda like trying to make “the wire” a comedy. very good! but o man. comedy winner is still father ted for me. i can laugh myself imbecile with that thing. yes yes, it’s not that smart and it can get repetitive but oh hell does it offer relief from... life, ha ha ha |
Haha. A comedy Wire. I like that.
I'd never made any connection before but I lknow what you mean. Just found out that The Wire is apparently Baracl O'Bama's favourite TV programme, whereas Yes Minister's was Margaret Thatcher's. Sort of make's sense. Anyway, it's all about Sir Humphrey. The gold-standard in cynicism. Makes Dame of Thrones seem idealistic. |
