In all seriousness, while i'm not a fan of the royals as a concept, I am a big fan of the queen herself. A very impressive woman. Utterly rock solid.

i always pictured rancid old liz in a crappy old folks home, lying dead and undiscovered for 2 weeks, with maggots crawling up her feeding tube, flies eating at her brain between the crevices in her crown, and the low murmur of itv still on in the backround. i think it would make a good album cover.

Rob Instigator 05.11.2010 09:17 PM

piss on ANY fucking queen.

ni'k 05.11.2010 09:19 PM

Say what you like about a royal family as an idea but the Queen herself is awesome.

What the fuck? Apparently we're going to get five year fixed terms.

Not good. And how are they doing this? And why are they doing this?

Caroline Flint just came on BBC news 24. I seem to have developed a thing for older ladies since the Tories have been in. Sam Cameron as well. Wrong.

Pookie 05.12.2010 06:24 AM

BBC News website:
"We understand that under the new agreement for fixed-term parliaments, the only way to remove the government between elections would be a vote of no confidence with the support of 55% of MPs. At present, any no confidence vote requires only 50%, plus one MP."

So it's going to be even harder to get rid of the government? And what was all this bollocks Cameron was saying about be able to sack your prime minister?

Lurker 05.12.2010 06:45 AM

"Hundreds of onlookers, many of them booing, crowded the gates of Downing Street to watch on, as Cameron swept into his new home in a silver limousine."

They weren't booing when Brown left. Is this a sign of things to come?

Toilet & Bowels 05.12.2010 06:58 AM

Caroline Flint is probably the only fit MP, but if forced to choose a tory I'd go for Sayeeda Warsi

Oh, agreed. She ticks quite a few of the forbidden pleasures boxes.

and coincidentally enough, the Tories hold 47% of seats, so we're stuck with five years of coalition unless backbench Tories rebel or die.
