Either way, we're getting Kids See Ghosts tomorrow!! |

*counts on fingers* Oh well... at least someone reported it incorrectly then, because I’ve seen at least one reference to an 070 Shake album this year. It feels like GOOD Music is ... kinda, like, trying to be an actual label now instead of just a posse/the OG, non-diet version of Ovo Sound. |

Kids See Ghosts is too good to be true.

I have always been pretty apathetic toward Cudi. He’s released some *shiiiit.* But I’ve always loved his contributions to Kanye tracks. This record just brings out the best in both. I don’t think Cudi is capable enough to make anything this good on his own, but his talents are used just right on this thing. This thing is a beast. A beast. And “Feel the Love” is one of the best opening tracks I’ve heard in a while. Kanye making nonsense sounds in a good way rather than a terrible lift yourself way. All good. Kanye is really killing the scene right now for someone so reviled. |
https://pitchfork.com/news/kanye-wes...album-with-ye/
ye debuts at no. 1, tying wth the Beatles (and Eminem?!) with eight consecutive no. 1 albums. Kanye’s cancellation is cancelled. Might have no. 1 and no. 2 albums next. That would be something. Seriously. (Also, this moved significantly more units than TLOP did. But bear in mind TLOP didn’t report its figures until it had been streaming for a month and a half. So at week six it “sold” nearly 100,000.) Kanye makes everyone who isn’t Kendrick or Frank look like a child playing “Parappa the Rappa” |
Kick! Punch! It's all in the mind

Some of Ye’s strongest lyrics and rapping is on KSG and ye. I’m low-key pissed that NR is listening to REM right now. |
"Reborn" is one of the hooks that only have to hear half of in the background and it's still stuck in your head forever. Glue.
Still prefer YE by a hair, if only for: I love your titties cuz they prove I can focus on two things at once. |

Same. I feel like I prefer “Kids See Ghosts,” but then I go back to “ye,” and it takes no time at all for me to remember that it is immersive and attention-grabbing in ways I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced in a hip-hop record before. In theory, I kind of hate the entire idea of “I Thought About Killing You,” but in execution... goddamn, that shit envelopes you. By the time he gets to that last, mega-distorted “PRE-MEDITATED MURDER” I am fully on board, and the beginning of the actual verse makes me want to spazz the fuck out. I guess Drake contributed to “Yikes” in some way (Mike Dean is also credited, so who knows what he actually did songwriting wisse), but I don’t care. Drake knows how to make a hook, and that hook is epic. (Sorry, self, for the Drake compliment... I’m still with you on face-punching his face!) “All Mine” is disgusting and there’s no reason for it. It’s the “I’m in it” of “ye.” But unlike “I’m in it,” “All Mine” contains THE CATCHIEST FUCKING HOOK EVER FROM JEREMIH!!! “Medulla oblongotta” bitch! Woooo! “Wouldn’t Leave” is great, but not my favorite. Still great in its way, and harkens back to “Fankly Business.” “No Mistakes” is... well, simply put, one of the best traditional rap songs Kanye’s made in a while. Great samples, great lyrics, great transition, tons to love. Like TLOP rolled up into one little sushi roll of a track. “Ghost Town” is probably the best song of the year. “Violent Crimes” is sappy but I love it. “Don’t you grow up too fast” has been in my head nonstop. Funny how he caught flak for writing a song about being the “father of daughters.” I guess that’s a sign of lameness. Whatever. Makes for a nice closer. “Ye” > KSG (if only by a smidge) |
No Mistakes/Ghost Town.. I'd put that stretch alone above anything on KSG. Puts a big smile on my face every time.
"Some day, some day, some day I wanna lay down, like God did, on Sunday" And then the electric guitar kicks in. |
What if he combined the two albums into one though?
1. I Thought About Killing You 2. Feel the Love 3. Yikes 4. 4th Dimension 5. No Mistakes 6. Ghost Town 7. Freeee (Ghost Town, Pt. 2) 8. Reborn 9. Cudi Montage 10. Violent Crimes |

Yes, No Mistakes and Ghost Town are amazing. AMAZING. “No Mistakes” sounds like Graduation was tutored by Yeezus. |

I’ve tried this, and the flow works in places (first two tracks line up nicely with ITAKY and Ftl at the start) but then the flow stops. Starts back up again for sure, but stops again. Have yet to figure out a combo tracklist that works. |
Nas album cover. Titled "Nasir". |
Quote:
Some Nas fans are saying “I was on board until I heard Kanye was producing ... hahahahaha” like the name association alone isn’t the best thing to happen to Nas’ career in years |

Another great album.
A large chunk of the production on the album reminds me of "Lucifer" beat (from The Black Album). One song is titled "Cops" and the beat is a vocal sample that goes "THE COPS SHOT THE KID" and the song is a total banger. Brilliant stuff. |
Really feeling the Jay Rock album!
|
New Nas not on Spotify? Am I missing something?

NASIR is out everywhere now!
|
So Jay-Z and Beyonce just dropped a surprise album..
|
Quote:
Yeah but it’s only on Tidal... blargh “NASIR” is the best Nas album in eons. I don’t think Nas has ever worked this production this good (not even in previous Kanye collars) Not nuts about the vaguely anti-vaccer lyrics. Weird, that. But the album is dope. Good music is 4 for 4 |
Quote:
I hope nobody’s saying “horrible person.” The worst he can be accused of is being a narcissist and a confused motherfucker with a huge ego... who’s also socially retarded. He is not a terrible person. Not as far as I or anyone else knows. He seems to be a good dad, a loving husband and a loyal friend. He’s done nothing wrong. He’s just said stupid things. Unlike Nas who apparently has some Dr. Dre in him. Btw when does the Dr. Dre boycott start? Never? Oh right gotcha makes sense. I fucking hate people |

Funny that Jay took shots at Ye in 2016, and Kanye’s basically released four albums since and not said one negative thing about Jay, and now Jay’s taking shots at Kanye in 2018. It’s almost like... he knows the songs will get streamed if he blasts Kanye, because Kanye even at his public lowest is still a guaranteed hype-generator. Bad form HOV. |
So Jay and Beyonce (whose album is now available on other streaming platforms, by the way, if y'all are still interested) bought demos from MIGOS for their album: https://twitter.com/studioflowpod/st...45460264292353

I have been boycotting Dr. Dre and his stupid ass G-funk SHIT since he quit on NWA. |
XXXTentacion is dead. Fucked up.
|
Quote:
And yet... not exactly the most heartbreaking death ever. Sorry. This is terrible and I’m against all violence and loss of life, but this guy was loving, breathing, walking shit. Should have been boycotted/canceled. It’s objectively sad, but it’s hard for me to get sad about it. Guy raped a girl with a fire iron. That’s just one of his many unspeakable acts that bro-fans continue to defend while blaming the victim. The whole outrage over Kanye is ridiculous considering people are going to be burning candles for this fuckwit. But RIP. Wish he hadn’t died and had just gone to jail for life. |
Quote:
That album is weak as fuck. Sorry. I love Lemonade and I love 4:44, but I got so bored after like four tracks that I said fuck it and went back to my nonstop Ye/KSG/Nasir/Daytona rotation. Got in the mood for something interesting. What can I say? Also fuck Jay for beefing with Kanye more. Without provocation. About... Kanye being upset that they didn’t go to his wedding. Motherfucker ... thought he was growing up on 4:44. Should have quit. |
Quote:
Sucks because Hov was on the right path with 4:44, and now he's regressing. I wouldn't even be mad if that was his final album, I don't think he's going to top it. |
