Yes it would...it would suck even worse....I know what poverty is like..I was born into it and will never escape it...a big black nothing depresses me more

Rob Instigator 09.29.2009 10:57 AM

hahaha.

space is chock full o shit!

pbradley 09.29.2009 10:58 AM

Living in a vacuum sucks.

I enjoy readily available oxygen too much to give living in space a try.

I was just playfully pointing out the logical impossibility of time travel.

SONIC GAIL 09.29.2009 12:27 PM

OK Rob! It's pretty..but I still don't want to live there.

string theory along with Einsteinian physics allows for the concept of time travel, BUT it is inter-dimensional, which is to say that you can not go back into time to say a math test you took two weeks ago, if you tried you would only find an alternate/parallel version of yourself taking the math test, but you could not actually go back to your actual self, it is impossible to return backwards into one time-line, but the multi-verse has infinite time-lines intersecting in several directions..

its like Doc explained in Back the Future II

Rob Instigator 09.29.2009 04:35 PM

yeps.

So you're agreeing with me. Time travel within out universe is impossible. Those UFOs aren't piloted by people from our future (as Rob suggests) but rather people from another universe.

I've got a couple other questions too:
1. You mention that it is impossible to "return backwards into one time line". Is this like parallel parking? And are you suggesting that it is possible to return frontwards?

2. You say "the multi-verse has infinite time-lines intersecting in several directions". Could you name these "directions" and why are only several rather than an infinite number as there are timelines (it does seem unfair on those poor directions). Also, is hairpin turn one of these directions and what about north by north west? Does he get a look in?

I look forward to hearing from one with such expertise in the field such as yourself.

Your sincerely,
Lurker

physics wise, it is possible to travel into the far future.
it is not possible to return, or to travel into the past, at least not uin this universe.

gualbert 09.29.2009 05:07 PM

Time does not exist.
I've heard that in Slacker (1991), but I already knew it.

here are the three dimensions you are familiar with

The fourth dimension is time which is the forward movement along any of the lines on this plane.

blah blah

woof woof

and there are more dimensions than the four we currently understand.
Mack 10 you know you rule Hip Hop and
Ice Cube you knw you rule Hip Hop and..

wait a minute, that aint how the westcoast rap nigga..

(Snoop, C-walk on em)

Time is not the fourth dimension. Time is another dimension that allows to somewhat understand the fourth dimensional in the third dimension. It is similar to an MRI machine that takes two dimensional images of the third dimension over time.

Second dimension of third:

third dimension of fourth:

The Galaxy is 100,000 light years across. at least

You thought I was being srs with that comment?

odds are not 'riDONK'. though.

cannot tell "seriousness" over text.
sorry.
