i must disagree kind sir. not all tats are pointless. have u never watched la ink, miami ink, tattoo highway or inked? people get them for a reason man! they tend to represent integral moments in ones life. i know they have def become more of a trend which sux- the masses are asses- and all that shite, but pls dont go lumping all of us w/tats into that generalized category of nonsense.

Those "meaningful" tattoos are bullshit, too. Wearing your life literally on your sleeve (or chest or whatever) makes you a sentimental show-off.

i did it with my friend as a joke. long story short, it was on viva la bam, and we always thought it would be really funny to do too.

the way i see it, is that whatever else you spend your money on will be gone someday. food, shelter, cds, clothes...none of them will last as long as a tattoo. food gets eaten, houses get sold, cds scratch, clothes get worn out. tattoos stick around.

yeah but when im 80, ill still have tattoos. even if theyre faded. i wont have anything else from this period in my life.

keep needles clear of your veins, unless you want a flavor of hep.

for the wrist, i'd suggest a nice watch-- preferrably a swiss one.

I dont really understand the argument about them looking silly as you age.. EVERYTHING starts to look worse as you age. So what? At least you can get re inked. Saggy skin is saggy skin, it looks like old people. I don't personally think tats make it look any worse. Unless you go for all over body coverage. That is a little odd to me, but each their own..

I'm a big believer that each person has every right to choose how they die, if they so want to. So.. whether *I* were to find it gross or undignified or not.. really seems a little irrelevant, when it isn't me dying.

Motorcycle mama sounds hardcore though, and it would not phase me one bit if that were how I end up. Seems a little more *digified* than shitting yourself for weeks on end while waiting in a home for the time to come.. But maybe my idea of dignified is different to yours. :)
