How does this compare to the first one? |
Quote:
I wasn't. Oh well. |

It's more Film Noirish (Neo Noir actually) than the first one. The philosophical line is not as subliminal as in the first movie, it's more openly discussed. The animation is still breathtaking and the imagery is second to none. The movie has a very existential tone to it. While in the first movie the primary colour scheme was blue, in this one it is red (supposedly representing the colour of love and desire). Motoko Kusanagi is sadly missing in the vast majority of the sequel, but there's some kind of presence (Just like the Emperor in the first two Star Wars Movies or Sauron in the Lord of the Rings trilogy). If you're into very philosophical aspects in movies this one is for you! |
Knock knock!
Who's there? Mr. Bungle Mr. Bungle who? Mr. 'Bungle In The Jungle' himself, Ian Anderson! (*plays flute solo*) Knock knock! Who's there? Mike Patton Mike Patton who? Mike Patton ("pattin'") himself on the back for all the great records he's put out! Like the one where he screams "ACK! ACK! ACK!" over a bunch of shitty electronic noise for an hour! Knock knock! Who's there? Trevor Dunn Trevor Dunn who? Trevor "Crocodile" DunnDEE! Hey, black person -- that's not a knife: THIS is a knife! (*pulls out hilarious big knife*) Knock knock! Who's there? Trey Spruance Trey Spruance who? No no, I said "Tres Truants." I was counting how many children didn't show up for my Spanish class today. I don't know the Spanish word for "truants" though. So that's what happened there. |

It was okay...3/5, I suppose. |

YEaH the road warrior!!! yes, there are some cool scenes in MM3 but overall its too soft and hollywood-ish. it doesnt fit properly in the "take no prisoners" attitude at all. I mean whats up with these religious-hippie kids in the canyon? ah just not desperate enough Quote:
I agree with you on mel gibson, but only for the second half of his career, the first half got some pretty cool flicks innit |
![]() |
^^hahaha
I always wondered if there is a connection between that music/video and MM3 beneath the visuals of course |
![]() g/f had never seen it. |

i couldn't get through May. i found the main girl pretty boring to look at. although it was late at night. still, i would normally have watched all of a good movie despite the hour
