High Tide - Sea Shanties (Sundazed reissue)
Legendary Pink Dots - All The King's Men
Dedalus - S/T (AMS reissue; I have sold a couple of originals at old jobs and could never afford one of those, so it was nice to find this. A little fusion-y at times, but still a very good Italian prog LP from 1973)
Amon Düül II - Freakout Requiem: The Phallus Dei Outtakes

Savage Clone 08.20.2012 10:06 AM

Yeah, Simon House plays violin, and the guitarist is from The Misunderstood.
It's pretty heavy and proggy in the right ways. So good.

I also forgot to mention that I picked up Myrrh's S/T LP on Soft Abuse yesterday as well. REALLY good heavy-ish duo of electric viola and drums. Would appeal to fans of White Hills and Gnod at times. Local duo of Jackie from Brute Heart and Andie of Mother Of Fire, both of which are also among our area's finest.

NENEH CHEERY & THE THING - THE CHERRY THING

this album is fucking awesome! not to mention it's got covers of Suicide & The Stooges and her dad Don Cherry. i ended up listening to it 3 times in a row the night i got it. it's very laid back and not really that mellow, but it's quite good. i would recommend it.

bombino is the coolest dude

hirsute_biped 08.28.2012 03:51 PM

Yeah I have that newer Bombino one you posted too, I really dig all the Malian/Nigerian/Saharan guitar bands on Subliminal Frequencies (and lots of other stuff they put out too). Not sure where you live, but Bombino is touring US & Europe soon. I saw Tinariwen four times, and later found out they sometimes stay with someone from my hometown when they tour California. They gave me this promo by Tidawt, a younger Tuareg guitar band. Supposedly all these bands from Agadez share a single set of guitars and amps. Crazy political upheaval in their homeland I don't fully grasp.

Yes, I did, with the six panel fold out cover, for just $14 (a little cover wear, not too bad for the price). It's going for over four times that on discogs.com right now. Score!

As long as my funds allow it, I want to go see Bambino in Sept., if it works out I'll try to record it and post on here if it turns out well.

God, you have been lucky! I have also searched it, but last time when it was for sale in the vinyl happening in my hometown, the price was 120 euros! The cheapest price I have seen has been 50 euros.

Green Flames finally have an album out? Took them long enough... where can I get that/listen to it/etc?

Mortte Jousimo 10.07.2012 11:07 PM

Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band: Legendary A&M Sessions
Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band: Strictly Personal (UK, gatefold cover)
Hawkwind: Space Ritual (probably UK original)
Allman Brothers Band: Idlewild South (probably US original)

Got a lot into Bowie lately.
Bought this LP at the local store

Savage Clone 10.08.2012 03:27 PM

Lately:

Bunalim - S/T retrospective LP on Pharaway Sounds, excellent Turkish fuzz rock from early 70s

The Cure - Demos 1977-1978 bootleg LP

Majutsu No Niwa - Frontera 2xLP (So glad to see a vinyl issue of this! Deluxe package, sidelong bonus track!)

Tarkus - S/T reissue of mega rare Peruvian heavy prog from 72

Pallbearer - Sorrow and Extinction (best so-called "traditional doom" LP I have heard in recent times from a modern group. Incredible vocalist)

Sensations' Fix - Music Is Painting In The Air 2xLP (really great rarities retrospective from a mid to late 70s Italian prgressive group that I thought maybe I was the only one who cared about. I was really happy when I saw this in the bin for sale, having really enjoyed the stuff I have already and never thinking I would see something like this get enough interest for a modern issue)

Swans - The Seer (naturally I needed this)

Celestial - Desolate North (EXCELLENT so-called "funeral doom" LP from my area. Highly recommended for late night listening)

I understand. I was expecting a little more as well to be honest. Butt, a nice release nonetheless. My nephew didn't enjoy it much. He likes te drums but the bass was too noisy. He's 5 btw.

I just bought a thurston/Weise 7", lb's wonderful rainbow, Choy okumura(classic Japanese pop meiko kaji style), and op of sister.

Smart Bar. Two copies of the CD version, one Vinyl, and two iTunes will be occupying this household in the end.

I know it's a bit much, but frankly were wondering if we shouldn't have purchased two vinyls as well, despite having only one (broken) record player at the moment.
