sounds a fuck of a lot better then the Ryko cd

1966-1970 Mothers of Invention is some of the wildest, most fantastic fucking music ever. Deeply misunderstood. People for the most part just didn't get it.

whorefrost 07.23.2013 05:17 AM

a couple of CDs from the trio of Keiji Haino, Oren Arambachi and Jimmy O'Rourke. rather excellent shit, brothers

Genteel Death 07.23.2013 06:29 AM

I also got some 7''s by Davila 66, Cheveu, Soft Cell and Gary Wrong's ''Knights of Misery'' 12''.

Dr Chocolate 07.24.2013 08:03 AM

a DMM 180 gram pressing of Rolling Stones "Their Satanic Majesties Request"

but what's with all these digital -> vinyl releases?
I don't know if it's me, but this one also sounds better then the cd

Toilet & Bowels 07.25.2013 02:19 PM

Got a semi-promotion at work yesterday so today I ordered that new Gate record as a congratulation to myself.

I love the shit out of this band.

hirsute_biped 08.07.2013 12:55 PM

Jimi Hendrix Experience boxset on very deep discount (the one covered in purple paisley velvet, as Jimi would have wanted it).

Severian 08.07.2013 06:34 PM

It's been so long since I've listened to Hendrix that I'm honestly not sure how I feel about his music anymore. He's not one of those fixtures, like Neil Young, Zappa, or Dylan, who I may go years without hearing, but won't ever tore of. And he's not one of the bands I could comfortably go the rest of my life without hearing again (Zeppelin, Cream). I should give Electricladyland a listen.

Mortte Jousimo 08.08.2013 03:35 AM

I have had Hendrix-fever recently. People, Hell & Angels is very great release!

adamnspy 08.13.2013 08:43 AM

One of my favorites from John Fahey's Takoma - I've had MP3s for years - happy to finally have this on wax.

This sound interesting......possibly a continuation of, 'Texas Working Blues?'

Never can figure out how to place an order via Many Breaths

The other day I bought MBV's "EP's.." Reissue on CD (worth it, even though I had the vinyl already), and went a bit berserk, picking up hard copies of several albums that I already have on iTunes, or in some other electronic format.

While checking out, I saw a promo of the new No Age sitting behind the register, open. The owner was babbling on about the Cd being "dead" and I said, "then I guess you won't mind selling me that new No Age you've got there a few days early. I mean, if the format's dead, then this should probably be kind of an everything-must-go period for those dusty old cd's."

He said " fair enough," and I got it for 5 bucks. It's a good album, and more punk in execution than anything since the Weirdo Rippers era... You just have to know when and where to listen.

EVOLghost 09.12.2013 03:45 PM

masonna-spectrum ripper lp
merzbow- grand owl habitat. the cover art is too amazing on this one.

a friend gave me gift certificate for Sound Exchange and I got these bad boys.

The Melvins is bright red vinyl, thick, and awesome. It sounds great and the reworked old tunes are in my face!

The Dim Stars I have heard before but I never owned the full 3x7" release. awesome for $5

The Chelsea Light Moving I have only spun once so far. will have to be in the mood for that stuff.

The sonic rare tracks is awesome, since it folds out into a sick awesome poster, and the vinyl is thick and purple and the tracks sound great. bootleg fabulous.

The "Environments" record has a thunderstorm on one side and a pine forest rain on the other. the storm is awesome.

Torn Curtain 09.19.2013 07:55 AM

Laura Veirs - Warp and weft

Good, but not as good as July flame.

Genteel Death 09.21.2013 01:21 PM

Yesterday I bought a Naked on the Vague single and my collection of cassettes from Pakistan continues to increase.

Their drummer is/was the boyfriend of a friend of a previous housemate of mine and I think it's on a hiatus and will be doing stuff again next year.

Rob Instigator 10.24.2013 01:56 PM

No chance. recent move and utility set up has left me broke.

I have not been to the austin record con in at least 6 years. I used to go every year and find the coolest shit. OG thelonius Monk LP's for $5. There are always people fro around the world, especially Japanese guys under 30 looking for records from the 50's.
