Some comments from Chuck Dukowski about the purple SST Sister:

"There was no rote number for these
runs. We ran them to fill pre-orders with no extra stock. I'd
suggest that on a title like sister that the number would be in
the 100s. Definately under 1000. A thousand would be a large
amount in that circumstance. I think it'd be at best about half
that for sister. We had a deal with the plant that allowed us to
run small quantities on the end runs of other epople's colored
vinyl editions. This is also why there is no uniform color scheme
even within a run."

Chuck got $227 for the copy he sold yesterday: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=190382743413

Thurston's Voice speaks the Public Service Announcement for Rock The Vote on the CD:

»If you live in America, you’re free to vote and free to protest. You are also free to speak your mind and free to decide what choice is correct for you. Don’t take freedom for granted. Vote to keep it strong. If you like to rock, rock the vote. Live free, stay free, let freedom rock. This is a message from Sonic Youth: Please register, and rock the vote on November 3rd, 1992. Peace.«

That's what I understand. I don't speak English very well. And don't know how to write it correctly.

Oh, I see: not only the odd CD, but also the Corporate-Ghost-DVD and the Internet contain it, as video with music behind it

radarmaker 06.01.2010 06:35 PM

Haven't seen that one before. Wonder if it's from the same people as that debut EP/Whore's Moaning boot?

The songs »Pattern Recognition«, »Stones«, and »Paper Cup Exit« on the »Sonic Nurse Album Sampler« are different mixes than on album: less guitar and effects and production, more bass; maybe early rough mixes for the promotion.

Chris Lawrence 06.18.2010 01:56 PM

rrrrrreeeeallly! very interesting! how comfortable would you be sharing these? don't worry, the intellectual property police never make it to page 17 of a thread.

hevusa 06.18.2010 02:05 PM
