Woo, high five! Sweet dawg, Santa's a great, great man. Murray Street is raaaad. I'd heard ROC a zillion times before, but it's super-expensive here, so I waited 'til xmas to get it, because I don't gotta pay. I'm going to buy Human Animal very shortly, and spend my thirty dollars on some other cds, I guess. (I'm thinkin' Daughters, dammit, they's good!) |

Alright, a cool persons opinion on it. I wasn't sure about it, I'd only heard about it, and it was a hip book for a while, you can never be too sure with hip books. |
Quote:
haha thanks. Yeah, sometimes books that are "in" turn out terrible. "The DaVinci Code" was apparently shit and it was #1 for about 3 months running |
Yeh, that's 'cos of the fucking movie, in which Audrey Tautou destroyed her amazing image in my head. (The completely fuckable/awesome; Amélie Poulain).
|
I haven't seen it, but I'm glad I haven't. I hate when they make movies out of everything that gets big. Harry Potter movies are terrible IMO. And the Diablo and Starcraft BOOKS are rediculously evident that they're just for the money. And I hate when movies destroy mental images of character and atmosphere too. When I watched the "Where the Red Fern Grows" movie I thought it was crap, and the book was anything but.
|
I've never watched or read Where the Red Fern Grows. Should I czech out the book? (Yikes, long waiting list of books to get...)
I'm reading Hemingway's A Moveable Feast. It's great thus far. |
I haven't heard of it, but I'll check it out. One of my new years resolutions is to read more, although I'm currently engaged in the Bhagavad-Gita and a book based on American indie.
Where the Red Fern grows is excellent as far as I remember. It was a long time since I last read it, but was really sad at times and was well written. |
Ahh, sweet. Maybe I'll check that out eventually. Who's the writer? Ahh, I'm off for a bit man. Have a good night if I don't talk to you when I come back.

Oh, a book I'd recommend if yr into poetry, The Complete Works of Billy the Kid by Michael Andaatje. It's poetry, written from the perspective of Billy the Kid, but not actually BY him. Very cool, and really interesting read. |
ok, call of duty is fucking awesome.
right now i'm reading "beasts of no nation", and it's really good, but the narrator is this african boy who speaks in that kind of.. broken english/african mix that kind of bugs. i want to love it so much but i keep correcting everything in my head. tomorrow i'm going to pick up a book or two. i think i'm just going to pick something at random. |
I got Gears of war for the 360.
Haven't been able to try it out though cos the tv doesn't work... |
Krackhead,
Do you have any other Wolf Eye's albums? If not, you should get Dread or Dead Hills first. |
Dread is cool
|
Hi everyone. My internet is being weird lately, so that should explain my absence, past and in the near future.

Nope, I don't, but Human Animal is at the record store. I don't feel like ordering anything right now, because I'm still waiting for three...FUCK. |
i didn't get the animal collective lp i meant to get. damn american eagle.
|
I didn't get my Wowee Zowee reissue for christmas even though I asked Santa for it. :[
|
Fudge Santa
|
Yeah, and Fudge This. Cat Power sounds even more magical through vinyl.
|
Hello my friends.
Some things are suited to vinyl more than cd, there's no doubt. We thought we were having to buy a new hi-fi as it wouldn't play any cd's, not even the cleaning cd, but I took it apart and cleaned the laser with a tissue and it's fine! Good stuff. now we can use the cash as planned, on a Wii. (I've always wondered why a dysfuncional cd player should be expected to play the cleaning cd. It's still a cd, after all) |

They had it in Best Buy and I was thinking about if you got it or not. I nearly said to my mom "I wish I could get this for Danny" but that'd just open up a whole slew of "WHO?" questions. Priesty- I want a Wii.. they just look so fun. |
We tried my sister/brother-in-law's today; its every bit as much fun as it looks, even though we only messed around on the Wii Sports thing.
We're going to try and buy one this weekend (although I don't reckon there'll be any in stock!) I want one or two racing games and some sort of fighty first person thing. |
Everyone's talking about these Wii things. I've never even seen one or understand what they do.
Oh, and, hi. |

You're so awesome. We will trade presents next year. |
I seen Wowee Zowee at my Best Buy also. But, I didnt wanna get it.. I've only heard Slanted and Enchanted. And it's cool but I didnt wanna take any chances

|
you must be in so much pain! DAYS!
|
Nah, it's the Deluxe edition!
|
Danny, I got Drugs Are Nice in the mail today
|
i can't go to sleep. but i'm tired.
|
I should have been in bed a while ago.. but I'm not. remember my sort of girlfriend? Well, turns out she doesn't even like me.
|
Awwww, K-Krack. That's no good. But fuck her then, hey. Her loss.
|
Word bro. It's kind of shitty though, because I kissed her the last time she was here, and then I was told by a friend of mine how she overheard one of her friends talking about how she kind of felt wierd from that, thinking she was there just as a friend. Yikes. I was embarassed to hear that, I'll tell you.
(Shit, that's confusing). |
Girls are funny things. You'll never know what they want 100%. Therefore you have to just do what you want or what you think is the right thing, atleast for yourself, which it seems is what you did. Then things fall into place eventually. Hick-ups along the way of course, but that's the fun, I guess.
|
Bummer krackhead.

Cool beans. Best book ever. So anyway, Jade, I heard Malkmus has a new EP out. Songs about flip flops, or something.. it's pretty good, anyway- the best song is this psychedelic acoustic-fuzz-wah track called 'Flibbles'. The whole thing has me looking forward to 'Straight Outta Malkmus' now. ![]() |
