anytime the Counting Crows come up in life is cringeworthy ;) |
I was not able to attend that Sanders event. It was moved to UH at the last minute because too many people RSVP'd.
It was a madhouse from what I hear. |

Danny DJ's weekly and he compiled a sweet LP of out of print Calypso classics which I ordered. |

really? that's awesome. i had no idea. |
In my final three weeks at this place. Can't wait to feel that door swoosh closed behind me. Even now, the big bosses want to control things. I can't tell anyone until THEY do, they told me. Fine, whatever.

how many weeks are you ACTUALLY working though? i mean, you gonna call up your vacation days or what? |
No, it's better if I don't use my vacation because I'll be paid for what I don't use. I'd rather have the cash than the time off. I am going to be coasting though!

One of the greater truths ever shared on this board! My wife's Grandmother and Aunt/Uncle live in Waco and we enjoy going to visit. Waco is a very clean city and you will get to enjoy more of the "seasons" than we do down here along I-10. |
Still waiting to hear. Now it is up to a final "interview" with the owner/President of the company. My wife has been waiting for too long and sent off an email today informing them of this, that it has been over a month of interviews, and that it is unprofessional to keep her waiting without final word either way. Hopefully they respect that. If not, fuck em. I will take over University of Houston and make this city my bitch....

Best wishes with all of that, Rob. My wife and I are not the type to make New Year's resolutions, but coincidental to the start of 2015, we determined to find new jobs this year. For my wife, it meant launching a career; she's been in school for the past few years, and it meant generating a second income for us, so her landing a great job was huge for her and for us.
For me, the new job means leaving a place I simply no longer felt good at--like I didn't fit in, was feeling unenergetic, bored, etc. Looking back, I can't believe that we made it happen. We became determined to do it, we stuck with it, through several prospects and rejections, and finally, it all came together. |

Is it like you're a senior in high school who has already been accepted to the college of their choice? |
Ha ha, yes! That's a fair analogy. Only better--I'm getting paid while I sit around waiting to start.

good for you. so... do you have any senior pranks prepared? firecrackers in the photocopier? dead skunk in the break room? stab every car tire in the parking lot? scramble all the hard drives with military encryption? give us a preview... |

i'll try to come around a little more. i really miss this place. |

here's an easy one-- when the kid walks by slapping people's hands on monday morning, put some bacon fat in yours and follow through with a good high five.
high-five, kid! enjoy breakfast! -- eta if you give us some notions of what things and people at work annoy you, you could harness the syg hive mind ha ha ha. |
I'm playing an ambient/drone/experimental DJset this Sunday.
Fill me in with some good track suggestions please. |
