You're doing well. Mastering Wave 5 with the brains is the first major hurdle.

but I did break 200,000.

I came ever-so-close to getting through wave 12.

If you can't play at all, you might need to enable ActiveX in your web browser settings, or better still, just go to www.romantion.net and download the MAME emulator for your OS, and some MAME roms. I discovered this site recently while looking for Joust 2.

All downloads are free and small filesizes, but I think there may be a daily limit.

I haven't played this in almost a couple of months, but I broke my old record. This game went very well (388,000); I only lost two men needlessly the whole time.
I hung in there for the last 150,000 or so with only one man or no men, only barely making it to the next free man (every 25,000 points) over and over. As you can see (below), I nearly made it though Wave 17 (nearly all the enemies are gone in the wave). I really thought I was going to make it, but then a missile bounced off the bottom wall. I saw it coming, but at that split-second I couldn't move out of its path because I would have gotten hit by another one; my last man got nailed just as I was shooting another missile about to hit.

I stumbled across this at wikipedia:

Robotron 2084 is the "favorite game of all time" of game designer Eugene Jarvis, game designer Mark Turmell (Mortal Kombat and Smash TV), and legendary musician/producer Todd Rundgren.

388,000 is insanely good (especially considering how hard the game is).

I think if you're interested in the Guinness Book you should invest in old school joysticks. the game would still be hard...but not as much. I remember being a lot better at the coin-op version than I was on my computer.

back in Dallas, I used to know a guy that held the record for Gauntlet (only used 1 quarter). He played the game straight for a day and a half. they actually sent out people to verify his score. weird guy....he went by the name Ajax (because he sniffed a bunch thinking it was something else).

...just some more scores, the likes of which wouldn't earn much respect somewhere like twingalaxies...

although this Stargate score is my most impressive (I think) score out of all these I'm posting...
