According to The Wire, Thurston Moore will be involved in a few improvisational performances with diverse geniuses of experimental music when a new festival for experimental, electronic, kind of radical music originated from traditional roots and/or the occult gets launched tentatively in Autumn of this year:

Managed to see Thurston playing with Takehisa Kosugi last night in Glasgow, noisier than expected, rather rad overall. Roughly 17% synaesthetic (remainder was monochrome monologues, naturally)

Further to my last post, the following night Thurston played a short set with Blackburn's very own Dylan Nyoukis. Thurston was playing electric guitar whilst Dylan handled tape manipulation and vocal improv etc.
In other Thurston news I bought the CD entitled '@' featuring Thurston and John Zorn, not had a chance to listen yet! |

Barry Miles & Thurston Moore on William S Burroughs William Burroughs was a primary figure of the Beat Generation and had a huge influence on 60's counter culture. A novelist, short story writer, essayist, painter and spoken word performer, Burroughs' has been hailed as one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century. Biographer Barry Miles worked with Burroughs for 30 years and catalogued his archive, as well as being a friend until Burrough's death in 1997. As The Times puts it, "The life of this disturbing and disturbed man has never been so perfectly told". Barry Miles will talk to Thurston Moore, another life-long Burroughs admirer. |

I saw Thurston on Monday with Adam Gołębiewski in Poland. Great gig, great interaction. First time I saw Thurston playing noise set, Adam did a really intriguing job on the percussion smashing a lot of things. Thurston had a a wide range of toolbars as well, playing with a big mountain crystal (?), iPhone, drum sticks, screwdrivers, you know the usual stuff. Also, I finally got the chance to shake hand with T and take a pic. You can check out the links below.
