23 years and 8 months, only young in comparison to my friends, who tend to be on average 5-6 years older then me

I always thought you were mid-20s, from posting style and photos.

I'm 25, and it's spiralling me into a depression. I'm not sure why people bitch about surpassing their 30s - I would think that would be a time when you'd gain more confidence, become more personally "settled," and have more practical and artistic license to pursue your interests. Teenage years are equally pleasant in their naivety, lack of responsibility, and unrealized potential. Your 20s seem like a wasteland of stagnation, regret, and apprehension.

Or perhaps that's just me.

sonicl 03.07.2007 10:54 AM

Hello Truncated. You're quite right about the 20's. I'm quite looking forward to being 40.

Savage Clone 03.07.2007 10:56 AM

Teen years were worse than 20s for me.
I have thus far not minded my thirties though.
I could do without the gray hair, but aside from that, I think I am somewhat more well-adjusted now.

sonicl 03.07.2007 10:59 AM

I do often wonder when I should start acting my age. And how I should go about doing so.

Rob Instigator 03.07.2007 11:01 AM

I am 33 going on 34

Danny Himself 03.07.2007 11:07 AM

Sixteen this friday.

Iain 03.07.2007 11:07 AM

26 which seems to be the most popular age in the most popular age bracket.

I have gray hair now, so quit your whining.

And, sonicl, I don't think there are necessarily behavioral changes/requirements for advancing in years; the things you do simply take on a different hue. Cackling at passerby while pissing in an alley after a gig: crudely funny at 21, a bit frightening and pitiable at 50. It's all relative.

sonicl 03.07.2007 11:11 AM

I think you'll find that, for a woman, cackling at a passerby while pissing in an alley after a gig SHOULD be pitiable at ANY age. Well, for most women anyway.

truncated 03.07.2007 11:17 AM

I consider it an activity of bodily necessity. And you can't help but cackle when you're attempting to simultaneously conceal what you're doing and not soil yourself.

Not that I make a practice of such things, for the record. But there have been moments that have required ingenuity that has proven less than decorous.

Toilet & Bowels 03.07.2007 11:28 AM

i was talking with a couple of friends in the pub the other day about the virtues of women who are too young to have grey hair but have grey hair. not that virtue is a quality i would ascribe to truncated per se, but it's not all bad.
