^^^thanks for sharing this! I listened (didn't watch) to all of it yesterday and it sounds amazing. However, it doesn't sound live.
Speaking of, ? (Untitled track live from, Burning Log) from the Soundcloud page was played on the WFMU show, The Avant Ghetto. |
Well either Wolf Eyes pulled a Milli Vanilli or your ears are deceiving you.
I guess what they do live is programmed loops with live electronics jamming, guitar and vocals on top, so maybe it's that. I saw five shows in the 14 months after they put No Answer:Lower Floors and there were enough differences in the music each time for it to certainly have some sort of liveness to it. The thing that really sets this Union Pool show apart from the other ones I saw is the dude's fuzz guitar. |
I just popped a music boner

This is some welcomed news......especially if they do a proper tour as I would really like to see Wolf Eyes live. There was growing speculation in the Avant Ghetto chat room of a new release when a new track showed up on the bandcamp page a few weeks back.
Someone mentioned that Urban Outfiters would be carrying all the available Wolf Eyes on vinyl. Quote:

is anyone else really disturbed by the fact that this record is coming out on jack fucking white's label?
|
Not really. He put out an ICP single. He just seems to do what he feels like.
|
I mean more as in he shits out the most insipid crap yet wolf eyes have chosen to align themselves with him. can see some sort of confluence in the mutual fetishisation of objects buttt...
|
Dude runs a record label, he's local, the record will get coverage because of Jack White's connections, what's the problem? Sub Pop puts out a lot of insipid crap but it made no difference to Human Animal or Burned Mind.
|
I'm guessing some were saying the same thing when Wolf Eyes started releasing albums on, Sub Pop back in 2004. Other than Hanson and American Tapes, I don't recall other labels issuing consecutive Wolf Eye releases???
If this release goes well, I'm sure another will follow. Quote:

you people don't expect reasonable judgements from me do you? wolf eyes putting out sludge on the same label as jay z and the white stripes skews more towards triumph than defeat, I just hate that jack white is going to be making a profit.
|
Who cares about Jack White?!
(apart from you) |
i communicated with westerquinox by seance about this and he said unless wolf eyes stick to their roots and crush jack white with a compactor, record and it and press it with a lathe using his bone and flesh as shellac they've become the coldplay of noise music.

News: Apparently as a condition of getting signed Jack White is going to be guesting on the album. |

"We woke up in horror & disbelief that it had happened as well as a lot of serious takes & half-jokes from friends and strangers about listening to nothing but Wolf Eyes today. Although many hear Wolf Eyes as an 'end of the world' band, and surely it feels that way for many, our hope is that it too can be some light in the darkness: for the next day or so, everything on the Wolf Bandcamp is FREE, (at least everything that we could make free). The Wolf Eyes website, www.wolfeyes.net, has been blacked out save for a single sentiment, perhaps crude but straight to the point, representing the band's support for its sisters, people of color, LGBTQ, the disabled, the poor, and all of our freaks out there experiencing systemic oppression under the white straight male order. Since Bandcamp allows a "pay what you want" structure when a release is technically made available for $0, Wolf Eyes will donate any money that comes in during the next 24 hours to a number of charities benefiting the groups above, making the transactions completely transparent and available on the website." - https://wolf-eyes.bandcamp.com/ |
SYG has 17 Wolf Eyes threads......today they are the featured band at BandCamp Daily.
A nice read about sheet metal and aluminum siding!!! |
