Pitchfork's review of "Anthology":
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/articl...6698-anthology Interesting read. |
6 votes for Future Days and no vote for Monster Movie?
|
I just have Ege and it's on green vinyl and I've never seen any of the other ones on vinyl except Monster Movie and I'm not too interested in that but I'd get Tago if I saw it on vinyl so for now all I know is I like Ege and it's on green vinyl and sounds pretty funky.
|
my favourite is delay but from the 5 above i'd go for tago mago
|
Id have Soon Over Babaluma on there above Monster Movie in all honesty, i dont get that album for some reason.
I have to say Future Days, just for the title track as much as anything else. Tago Mago is great but could do with a bit more brevity, and I think Ege Bamyasi is poorly sequenced despite being amazing. They do have the greatest rhythm section ive ever heard. Also, im sure this was mentioned before - Kanye west nicks the melody from and samples Sing Swan Song (from Ege Bamyasi) for one of the songs on his new album |
Short but great:
Vitamin C (1972) |
has anyone seen the can dvd? pretty good stuff.
tago mago got my vote. |
Tago Mago.
|
Old torrents that are still alive on dime:
Can Horror Trip in the Paperhouse (Köln 03.02.73) by dougprit CAN - London ,Paris Theatre 1973.02.19 FM broadcast, excellent quality,MP3 sample ,complete broadcast, incomplete show 32 min., reseed by booomboom Can 1973-10-14 Musikhalle Hamburg by rhinowing |
To answer the old question, I pick Future Days.
|
I wanted to vote for ege bamyasi but voted for tago mago.
like them both so its ok |
It took over a year, but I bought Ege and really liked it a lot.
You have been trustworthy. Next year, who knows, Future Days. |
Tago Mago. One of my favourite albums, period.
|
tough call. monster movie is great but my vote is for tago mago even if its just for hallelujah..............
and yeah, the mondays did get inspiration from it and whats wrong with that.. the rave on e.p. and the bummed album are can for the stoned baggy generation.. shame they could never come close to those records again tho...... |
Ege Bamyasi is my favourite. Tago Mago is their best work. Soon Over Babaluma is highly underrated.
For my personal taste I would rank them like this: Ege>Tago Mago>Soon Over Babaluma>Future Days>Monster Movie>Soundtracks. |
Ege bamyasi!
