Newcie or "dog", as I'm told the locals call it is awesome. Try a few more British beers (including Brains Dark) and I don't think you'll ever go back to American stuff!

I do like Newcastle Brown Ale, but I perfer real ales if given the option.

i like a nice oatmeal stout or a nutbrown ale. both worth the extra money.

Today I had Otter Ale in a village in the back arse of no-where in Devon. Otter ale is my favourite ale, and I shall be returning to said village solely because more than one pub serves Otter. It's a tragic life, really it is.

I feel your pain glice. The shit people drink, in some pubs its near impossible to get something that doenst taste like Carling without taking out a loan. When you find a place, stick with it (unfortuately they are usually out in the back-of-beyond). oh well...

Never tryed Otter Ale, I heard someone say great stuff about it though.

Oh, I'm actually lucky where I live. Oodles of real ale bars... I just like Otter more than most ales.

Cardiff has got some good places, the only thing is its so expensive go get anything nice sometimes
