is civ4 like civ 3? cos 3 sucked ass compared to earlier versions. i hated the age-of-empires style "armies", and that leader bullshit, and the fact that if you conquer the world your productivity goes to shit.

i still play civ 2. true story.

yeah, since it's turn based, you can play by email. I thought that would have made it easy to play.

from what I've read, you can also play Alpha Centari by email, but the expansion pack that lets you do it is fucking $85!!

the economy in the game is micromanaged with your cities. you have to balance production with pollution and energy. religion plays a pretty big part offensively along with your armies, but I don't think it's like AOE at all.

you pretty much just stack different guys in the hexes and attack or defend with auto-results. *shrug*

but yeah, if you can't get it, that kind of shoots a hole in the plan. haha
