when i was about that age i read:
naked lunch fear and loathing various ginsberg books a clockwork orange etc...i don't think any of that shit is above 8th grade level. then again i remember some kids were still reading harry potter so it depends. and i think they made us read of mice and men in school but i'm pretty sure i read the first page and tossed it aside. |
i was reading vonnegut and sci fi in 8th grade
but I am male, and a nerd |

ha ha ha, you're too hard fucking core cankers. i like your internet persona. but i think deep down you might be a softie after all. and naked lunch is a boring fucking book, except for the part about drugs. |

i didn't cry when i broke my collarbone when i was eight but that's because it didn't hurt. i couldn't feel shit all down my right arm. however i wailed when i almost cut my left thumb off. |
I have read JUnky, naked lunch, and some others whose names I forget and every single Burroughs book is pure unadulterated SHIT
when Nikki Sixx says his fave book is Junkie, you know it is crap. |
nikki sixx is a twat if there ever was one. didn't he do a speedball or something and sort of "die" for a couple minutes and then they revived him?
|
why do people still do speedballs? don't they just kill you?
(On that note, RIP River Phoenix) |
it was back in the 80s that he did that but people still do them. fucking stupid combination, i don't care how high it gets you, it's just not good sense.
|
the same thing killed John Belushi, and the comedians chris farley and Mitch Hedberg, and nikki sixx did die from it and was revived. There was even a rumour that Nikki sixx had died and they replaced him with a fake nikki sixx a la beatles and (f)aul McCartney
one's |
and he was so preeeeetttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttyy yyyyyyy, no one will ever be that pretty again.
![]() Damn Speedballs |
he was pretty. he had great hair.
|
he was so good in My Own Private Idaho
|
PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY
![]() ![]() ![]() damn. Joaquins not bad, but he's no River. ![]() |
joaquin was jealous of his bro and sis having cool hippie names so he chose to be called LEAF for a while, until he grew oput of it,. he was credited as LEAF PHOENIX in Space camp
Look at this picture. You will see joaquin/leaf pheonix, the guy who rachel fell in love with when she worked at the clothing store on friends, the dude that played the gay guy Lamar Latrell in revenge of the nerds, lea thompson, from the back to the future movies, kelly preston who is married to tom hanks and has a good career, and kate capshaw, who has made lots of good movies. hiow can this not be a cult classic? it sucks! ![]() |
I don't remember most of the books that I read when I was that age...basically just whatever was on the bookshelf in our classroom at school. I think I read a lot in elementary school, but not as much in junior high. I'm pretty sure I liked "A Wrinkle In Time" a lot, and the other books in that series. I liked adventure books. I think I read "Treasure Island" eight times and finally the librarian at my school just let me keep the book. I also loved Roald Dahl books, especially "Danny, The Champion of the World." If you can find one of his short story collections, I think that would be a good choice. I guess I wasn't so much into the very girly books. Most things I read could appeal to both boys and girls.
|
At that age I enjoyed "Animal Farm" and "The Wasp Factory".
|
i couldn't get through a wrinkle in time. i hated that book
