saw the movie mostly because i am a big Arrested Development fan (the excellent deleted television series that starred jason bateman and michael cera several years ago) i thought it was pretty funny, mostly enjoyable, weird to see someone like jason bateman who plays a 30 something yuppie in a movie saying how "he appreciates sonic youth" to say a 16 year old pregnant girl... but then again its a movie and it could actually happen, maybe... i thought the music worked well with the film and the musical segments weren't odd or overbearing and were used to kinda build up on what was happening during the the film.
but man if i had a nickle for everytime i heard some say "i bought a sonic youth album and all i thought of it was noise" i'd have enough cash to buy gas for a year... and that line was in the movie, that was probably the one thing that seemed distracting and not as funny as it should've been, but thats because i'm a SY fan. |

scene movie.
speaking of which, i had to explain what "hipster" meant for a joke i made this weekend. |
That sucks. It's not even funny once you have to explain it.
|
i know, i did get a laugh though.

gee thanks! :) ;) |
It was a really great, sweet film. Its not at all as lame as it looks...and Ellen Page is the hotness...
|
I just really could give a rat's ass about yet another story about a preggo teenager. big fucking deal.
|
its not at all like it sounds, its not melodramatic...its really quite funny
|
i have heard it is funny and witty and all that, but it is still the story of yet another teenage pregnancy and how she has to deal with it.
big whup. |
