Ron Paul is a freaky little senile Republican congressman from the Galveston, Texas area who has managed to get lots of druggies interested in his campaign because of his proposed Libertarian drug legalisation policies.

He's for non-intervention in foreign affairs and was one of only six Republicans to vote against the invasion of Iraq. He wants U.S. withdrawl from NATO, which is something not even feasible. As a strict constitutionalist, he's against the Patriot Act though, so good for him.

Ron Paul has pledged that as president he would like to abolish the Federal Department of Education, the IRS, and the Federal Reserve; in the end analysis, he's even more quixotic than Kucinich. On the less unrealistic but still highly controversial side, he'd like to see Roe v. Wade overturned and let the states decide about the abortion issue.

Oh yeah, they dug that up on him. Paul said it was an employee or supporter or something writing under his name...like that's a legitimate excuse.

Like I succintly (for once) stated, I really believe the main reason you hear about Paul is because he supposedly wants to legalize drugs on some level. That's as deeply as the reasoning of the majority of his enthusiasts goes.
