The onle track that doesnt go, is Arthur Doyle.

samuel 04.29.2008 05:22 PM

It's I Love You Golden Blue
However I love Kim Gordon and the... as well.

Pax Americana 04.29.2008 06:17 PM

I Love You Golden Blue is my fav off of that album.

tasteinmen 04.29.2008 06:48 PM

At the moment Peace Attack is my favourite of SN, it used to be Mariah Carey & Arthur Doyles...

RanaldoNecro 04.29.2008 06:53 PM

The intro to Stones makes me want to devote my life to music...

Death & the Maiden 04.30.2008 12:57 AM

I listened to it for the first time last night. All of the tracks seem to be of equal excellence, so nothing stands out. It's one of my top 5 SY albums.

batreleaser 04.30.2008 01:06 AM

i love the opening riffs on pattern recognition. i think stones is beautiful though. yeah thats my favorite.

Toxa 04.30.2008 02:19 AM

peace attack
unmade bed
stones

_slavo_ 04.30.2008 02:30 AM

One of my least favourite Sonic Youth Albums, together with Rather Ripped. But if there's a single track I truly LOVE off that album, it must be I love you Golden Blue.

SonicBebs 04.30.2008 02:55 AM

It's hard to decide the best track off Sonic Nurse.

Yeah.

satirejohn 04.30.2008 07:07 AM

no, it's not - it's Pattern Recognition.

PAULYBEE2656 04.30.2008 07:27 AM

stones by a mile, then probably paper cup exit

sonic sphere 04.30.2008 08:45 AM

i love you golden blue

atari 2600 04.30.2008 09:02 AM

I haven't listened to it in months.

Dude Ranch Nurse (great song/the best on Sonic Nurse*/intense passages throughout)

Pattern Recognition (one of their most exciting bridges/overall, it just works on many levels)

New Hampshire (it's rockin' the extended intro/chunky rather than clunky/a poetic song with an indirectly implied political message)

Paper Cup Exit (nice sensibilties in the music and lyrics, but not so much in the production which is slightly overdone and imbues further clunkiness, another poetico-politico what have ya)

Peace Attack (poetic song with political message/a very nice change-up/lovely wash and turnaround)

Unmade Bed (a great song idea lyrically with a message/passable bridge/solo still gets an A for effort)

Stones (very good intro/very good energy yet clunky in parts/not the best lyrics)

*In my view, a good case can be made for any of the above seven to be the best on the album.

Dripping Dream (great spawling expanses, yet too much of meandering mess for the most part to rank higher/a poetic song with loads of unrealized potential)

Kim Gordon and the Arthur Doyle Hand Cream (catchy and fun/a little overbearing in a sense though/slightly overdone production suits this one okay)

Beautiful Plateau (very nice instrumental)

I Love You Golden Blue (decent sonicscape/not so sure about the lyrics/great vocal phrasing from Kim yet the song sounds pretty goofy at times too)

Kim Chords (clunking instrumental with interesting parts at times)

DOOD! Pattern recognition used to be my favorite, but Dripping Dream is teh awesome.

Silver Son 04.30.2008 01:39 PM

Dude Ranch Nurse or Kim Gordon and the Arthur Doyle Hand Cream.
I love the kinda 1960s feel to Dude Ranch Nurse.
