We also have Starbucks in France, and I suppose there're some in the rest of Europ
|
no starbucks here.
I'll ask some usanian friend for help, I guess, I have no idea why but now I want this thing. Maybe it's Moshe's superpower to make us want to buy everything they release ha ha :D! Quote:
ha ha kiddin', I hope it's something along the lines of "move away" in terms of vocalisms (?). But I doubt it will. |
It's a predictable tracklist (except for Tuff Gnarl and World Looks Red), but why was Mary-Christ chosen?

My thoughts exactly, though maybe the various artists were given a shortlist to pick from. Oh, and Schizophrenia was never released as a single (nothing from Sister was). |

because Davis Cross thought it was their best tune. |
Kim is singing the new song.
You can buy the CD online so it doesnt matter where you live... |
No UK shop-sales?
Just as well I'm going to New York this summer. It may sound like a holiday, but in fact it's a reconance mission to pick up Hits Are For Squares. Starbucks will get a one-man English invasion force. They ought to watch themselves, we pinch. |

ae you fucking KIDIDNG? first of all Rain on Tin is a beautiful song second of all FLEA knows about and has been in more bands than you have jerked yr meat young man! Flea was even in FEAR for a bit! shti! why can't a 45 year old man choose whatever song he likes? fuck you guys are some nitpicky shits! I think that for an album to be sold at starbucks, this has some seriously anti pop songs in the mix. the entire second half of the CD is beautiful shit! (I do agree that dipshit diablo cody picking a song that also just happens to be on her movie's soundtrack is pretty fcking lame) |

what HITS? what HITS are you talking about? what HIT has sonic youth ever had? their best selling "single" is the little trouble girl one. they have no HITS. chill! remember this is an album for people at starbucks, many of which have never heard any beck, much less sonic youth. |
Quote:
As jenn described, Flea has long been a supporter of Sonic Youth. When Rolling Stone asked him for critic's picks, I think I remember him picking Dirty as the album and Theresa's as the song of the year that year. |
i cant belive it doesnt have diamond sea on the end. whats the point of writing the stairway to heaven of space rock if you arent going to have it as the last track on your greatest hits cd?
some people have got no idea |
im ciurious about h a f s .
beck surely did a great job with sugar kane (maybe this will be acoustic version or sth) eddie vedder fit in teenage riot. radiohead and kool thing?! wtf. i didnt think that yorke comapny even enjoy the sy music. 100% by Mike D - HELL YEAH! flaming lips did expressway live i've heard that. |
It's not a greatest hits cd. People chose it, or someone chose it. However, it is not a single hits album.
|
the sad part is that probably 80-90% of all sales of this are going to go to existing sonic youth fanatics
|
True, but whatever.
|
if i'm not mistaken, flea and anthony kiedis attended gila monster jamboree; i remember reading about them talking about psi-com's set at gmj.
