I suspect all these hoops we have to go through to get them will weed people out...it used to be so much easier you just hired a bum to stand on line for you to get the free tickets...

No wonder the thing "sold" out so damn quickly... everyone on this board got like 3 pairs of tickets.

At least this way maybe the show will be full of respectful and respectable fans instead of a bunch of yahoos who will talk about their weekend plans through the whole thing.

The stressful thing was that the website was such shit and I had to keep refreshing, but I was at school, where we're only supposed to use the computers for academic reasons...

Can u believe that July 4th tickets are going for about $200 a piece on ebay? I dont think they go for that much for their other shows. Anyone know why so much? I know it's in NYC but you people think they will play new material?

The show is supposed to start at 3:30, but it says 7:00 on their myspace. Anyone have any insight?

I think when you post shows on myspace the time defaults at like 7 or 8pm unless you specify so whoever posted the show just probably didnt bother to change it. Show is definitely set to start at 3:30 as of now.

I'm guessing Feelies are starting at 3:30 and the Youth will begin at a later time.

Since this isn't a tour i would expect something other than the 'average' show. Since they are mainly working on the new album (which is why they aren't touring) I would expect new material at the show.

It's been 2 years since they've had new material. They're totally due to debut new music. What better place than their hometown. Good luck to you guys going. I just saw them in Nashville and they did nothing new. :( But still a fun show ! :)

when my friend used to follow the Dead in the 80's he told me there were 2 kinds of fans: people like him who sold acid or burritos to get from show to show and generally camped out somehow, and the other were people who flew from show to show and stayed in fine hotels and did lots of cocaine. Its kinda in bad taste to scalp considering the show is free. Espcially on the forum where obviously people are devoted fans...

I know! I find it disgusting actually; to sell something that was free to some for prices in the hundreds. I had mentioned this to my boyfriend... and he gave me the good old "it's capitalism" speech. I'm not saying that I argue with the fundamentals of capitalism... but at the same time, I don't have to agree with every example of it.
