viewtiful_alan 06.25.2008 01:30 AM

Actually found him from my grandpa's old folk records, not through kurt.

i don't think i've ever heard it, i try to avoid post-cream clapton at all costs.

it's not the most unpleasant song i've ever listened to, certainly not even the most unpleasant clapton song.
however i wouldn't turn it on myself. but it is a lovely gesture and fitting for the..uh...occasion.

other than my dad playing it which i have little memory of, me too.

viewtiful_alan 06.25.2008 01:44 AM

Haha so I 've noticed.. XD
but nah its cool. Kurt really did good at opening doors to awesome artists. That's become his legacy in my mind as I've grown past Nirvana.

Speaking of Nirvana their acoustic set blew just about all the other MTV unplugged sets out of the water.

Cantankerous 06.25.2008 01:47 AM

nirvana unplugged is amazing. particularly on the dvd so you can watch all the shit they cut out on mtv.
the only other one i think i've ever seen is hole which really doesn't work acoustically. and needless to say nirvana's was better.

Yeah, is it just me or did the dvd sound a hell of a lot better also?
And yeah.. Where did you Sleep Last Night always sends a chill down my spine at the end, especially when you watch him, he looks like he's in so much pain.

Cantankerous 06.25.2008 02:11 AM

you can tell how smacked up he was when he looks up at the end of where did you sleep last night. he obviously was not in the best shape.

viewtiful_alan 06.25.2008 02:13 AM

Do you mean that he was high at that very moment (cuz it didn't show in his performance), or do you just mean that the drug abuse was taking visible toll?
But either way, your'e right, he really looked damaged and unhealthy.

Cantankerous 06.25.2008 02:15 AM

yes, i mean that he was high. strung out. say what you will but you can look at anyone's eyes who's doing heroin and you can just see it.

viewtiful_alan 06.25.2008 02:22 AM

Oh. I guess I never really looked for it much. Then again I probably wouldn't have been able to tell anyways. I usually just look for collapsed veins...

Cantankerous 06.25.2008 02:23 AM

you can't see collapsed veins
and that typically only happens after years and years of shooting up into the same vein

do you mean track marks? looking for those more likely wouldn't do you any use these days anyway as most people snort it or smoke it

sorry y'all i didn't mean to turn this into heroin 101

viewtiful_alan 06.25.2008 02:30 AM

Haha nah its my fault. Sorry for bein so.. out of it? XD
