that's too easy:
BLONDE REDHEAD - MISERY IS A BUTTERFLY this whole LP each and every song makes me fucking weep like a girl each time |
not because it's sad, but because it's so perfect.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dHUfy_YBps It's the song that'll be played at my funeral. People have been informed. |

It genuinely leaves me speechless every time I hear it. Just beautiful.

The bit in slow motion when he's tap dancing, and the bits before that when he's just walking along in central park. Fuck. Amazing.
Mark Chapman. You really were one total fucking arsehole of a cunt. |

cantankerous^^another case of mediocrity triumphing over greatness i suppose. which in itself is enough to bring tears to the eyes. one of humanity's great mistakes.

Where did you Sleep Last Night - Nirvana
Doll Parts - Hole That's all that comes to mind. It's normally things songs remind me of that make me cry, not the song itself. I listened to both those songs plenty of times before I cried to them. |
this isn't a song but it's music-related
i shed a tear when i listened to this and when i read the ending of that book come as you are http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HxUwBgpfPw |
I've mentioned it before, I think, but the last time I cried spontaneously at a song, was listening to Dennis Wilson's "Mexico" for the very first time. An absolutely beautiful tune.
Thin White Rope's "Disney Girl" could make me blub as a young 'un, too. |
Last time I cried was when I heard Slowdive - Dagger. I was pretty down and drunk at that moment but nevertheless it's a beautiful song.

Special D's come with me (which, as you may know, is my favourite song ever) reduces me to silly little tears of glee pretty much every time. I was glad to see someone posting Mogwai's Helicon 1, as that's my funeral song (but it doesn't make me blub any more). Ground Zero's 'I say a little prayer' is a tears of mirth one. The Fall's smile (and a fair few other songs) reduces me to a silly laughing, blubbing mess.
On the other hand, there's plenty of country and such that gets me a little bleary. An afternoon of Hank Williams will usually destroy me, as will Dolly, Kenny Roger's Lucille, Abba's the winner takes it all, Merle and ridiculous little things like Avril Lavigne or Rolf Harris. I'm very susceptible to an utterly preposterous song that's melancholy, as it happens. |

Most of Marc and the Mambas' "Untitled" album - particularly "Big Louise" and "Caroline Says".
