There's a reassuring irony that most people here that love The Jam are American, while most of us that utterly loathe them are English.

I like The Jam. I became obsessed with them awhile ago, and I had a lot of money to spend, so I bought the Direction Reaction Creation boxset. There's nothing wrong with the music, but it really was a waste of money.

First band I ever saw live.

They had some great songs, but it helped if you'd never heard The Who at the time.

I love those first few Jam albums. Absolutely great.

There's about 10 songs by them that I think are great. I have never listened to a whole album, so maybe there are more or none at all. If you take 2 and add 3, that will become 5, which in turn you want to multiplicate by 2, and end up with a 10.
