the last I watched is Hostel.
Not as good as I was expecting (except the hot girls...)

atsonicpark 10.20.2008 09:08 AM

Man, I remember that part. That seriously was some scary, although pointless, shit.

atsonicpark 10.20.2008 10:32 AM

Pointless? That was one of the most important parts of the movie...

mangajunky 10.20.2008 10:36 AM

Audition - it'll touch a nerve with anyone that's ever been on a blind date.

I agree with you here, though. And I think that scene is probably one of the scariest things I've ever seen in a film. I mean I quite literally jumped out of my seat the first time I saw that.

_slavo_ 10.20.2008 11:14 AM

I generally avoid disturbing movies.
I've read something about the two movies Adam stated (Visions of Suffering and Begotten) and I honestly never ever want to watch that shit.
Why would one want to watch something that'd cause him/her a trauma anyway?
I have enough of my own nightmares, thank you.

atsonicpark 10.20.2008 11:16 AM

they're beautiful films though...

ploesj 10.20.2008 11:32 AM

scary movies still really scare me. maybe it's because i've grown up without any tv around, or because i easily get scared in general (as in the shock effect, or feeling uneasy)

i remember not wanting to watch sleeping beauty because there was a dragon in it.

noisereductions 10.20.2008 11:34 AM

THE STRANGERS comes out on DVD tomorrow. Looks really frightening.

erm...Adam, I remeber reading about two movies that might strike your interest, both truly fucked up. One of them was called Necromancer (you might guess what this one could be about) and the other one had a neat name I Piss on Your Grave.

atsonicpark 10.20.2008 12:18 PM

Necromancer? Any relation to Necromantic?

Sorry dude, it's called Nekromantik.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093608/

atsonicpark 10.20.2008 10:05 PM

Oh, I've seen Necromantik 1 and 2. And that dude's other film DER TODESKING, which actually is genuinely scary.

Sorry, Nekromantik.

max 10.20.2008 10:27 PM

well surely David Lynch flicks scare the crap out of me too.

George A. Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD and DAY OF THE DEAD, for their social commentary.

John Carpenter's PRINCE OF DARKNESS and THE THING.

David Cronenberg's THE DEAD ZONE and VIDEODROME.

...there's one specific movie I just saw one time that I never want to see again if possible which is REQUIEM FOR A DREAM, that really makes me feel uneasy.

atsonicpark 10.20.2008 10:58 PM

Haha. Requiem for a Dream is such a shitty movie. I think that's the only film where I hate EVERY SINGLE actor in it. The directing is also terrible.

with my friends we watch many trashy horror movies, of low quality, but i let them scare me. yesterday we watched "mirrors". i have mirrors at home, so you understand. plus, although i was closing my eyes, i didnt need to see an autopsy scene. i dont need to be reminded what i always have in back of my head, that we are just a machine.

my all time scary- more distrurbing/scary list consists of:
1. crimes with no motive. i think manhunter initiated this.
2. being locked up in psychiatric clinic, while being sane.
3. plane crashes scenes.

somewhere there you probably forgot to add "being buried alive".
