terrorists are not the broadest common denominator of muslims though, whereas greedy idiots are the broadest common denominator of americans.

^Agreed agreed agreed. My point was not to say that only radical islam or terrorists dislike/hate america, its obvious that most other countries or people do, even the ones that seem much alike. My point is to not be baffled when a group of people or a terrorist cell decide to take action against the american system. Really, I mean who needs ''propaganda'' when CNN is reporting the stuff on national tv.

pbradley 11.30.2008 09:44 PM

No, Islam is the broadest common denominator amongst terrorists. America is the broadest common denominator amongst greedy idiots.

Hate terrorists, hate greedy idiots.

That's a mis-reading - there is a large difference between criticising the state (as agent of the people) and all of the people. C'mon, philosophy boy, where's your Hegel?

This article is from 2007, I'm confident that it still applies.

Americans gave nearly $300 billion to charitable causes last year, setting a record and besting the 2005 total that had been boosted by a surge in aid to victims of hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma and the Asian tsunami.
