ok, i just saw on CBS a commercial highlight feat. for tonite's episode of Letterman, they actually showed like 1 or 2 seconds of sonic youth, it was obvious that thurston was singing and playing a sunburst jazzmaster so that would leave me to believe that it will be INCINERATE... (the song is not in his pavement-esque tuning, cgdgcd where that guitar is the black and red loaded w/ stickers).

I think I noticed the mic stand in front of Thurston, so I would guess that it's gonna be Incinerate. I suppose it could be Do You Believe in Rapture? or perhaps a shortened Pink Steam or Sleepin' Around.

I think that was the best the sound mix has ever sounded for a Sonic Youth tv appearance.

Thurston sounded less self-conscious in his vocal delivery too.

that was pretty cool, the chorus is a little annoying, but thurston was real into it, and they had a great shot of Lee busting a lick...
