they don't scare me. nothing really scares me outright.

Toilet & Bowels 08.26.2006 06:50 PM

i watched profindo rosso last summer but i couldn't concentrate because i watched it with two girls who wouldn't shut up.

(actually, that's another thing for the "do you have a type?" thread)

for grossness and gore i prefer things like ichi the killer, braindead or bad taste.

The only commentary i allow people while watching movies is when they paraphrase everything in a witty way.I've learned to love the series 'Bad Girls' that way.

Alex's Trip 08.26.2006 07:26 PM

I didn't think the first saw was that bad, but then I saw the second one and I just hated all of it...

the exorcist is in no way a horror film, nor is it scary or very interesting. its been blown out of all proportion by the media, mark kermode and cunts of that nature.

TheDom 08.26.2006 08:46 PM

Eraserhead is not horror at all.

Landry 08.26.2006 09:45 PM

Mulholland Dr. and Blue Velvet aren't either.

The Changeling is a classic though. I'd forgotten about that one.

static-harmony 08.26.2006 09:55 PM

If you want to laugh at a good horror movies, just watch all the chucky's movies, they are outright funny.

acousticrock87 08.26.2006 10:06 PM

Seed of Chucky is the only movie I've ever chosen to walk out of in theatres. I've never cared to watch any of them, and I don't know if that one was worse than the others (as I've heard it was), but I couldn't stand it. It's totally cool for the people that enjoy it and all - far be it from me to play down anyone's enjoyment - and I do realize that it's supposed to be cheesy/funny and not scary, but for my taste it was the worst half of a movie I've ever seen.

well on behalf of that natured cunts i'll give you a bloody good hiding if i ever meet you jonboy.

Cantankerous 08.27.2006 12:46 AM

ooooh the shining. how could i forget. what a classic.

wax 08.27.2006 12:47 AM

depends what you class as a horror flick.
if you class teenage girls getting chased by a mad axeman in some awful american film, or some cheesey ghost film as horror then lynch probly aint horror. but if you are counting the actual feeling of the film, alot of lynch is far more literal horror than any of that crap.
eraserheard is horror. in fact its the only film i can associate with that word.

Cantankerous 08.27.2006 12:54 AM

i saw the shining the first time when i was like seven and it scared the shit out of me.

acousticrock87 08.27.2006 01:20 AM

I didn't really like the Shining as a horror movie. It was a good stylish film with a great plot, but I think I had unreasonably high expectations in the "scary" category. I even wanted to prove some people wrong who had told me it wasn't scary because I assumed they were just acting tough. Oh well.

Though obviously at 7 it would be scary as hell. But since I just saw it this year it wasn't quite the same experience.

acousticrock87 08.27.2006 01:28 AM

Evil Dead is amazing. 2 was also, but for other reasons.

I keep hearing bad things about the Blair Witch, but I think it looks good. Especially considering the circumstances it came out under. I keep putting off seeing it because the price of buying it is the same as renting it, and I'm not sure which to do. I don't want to waste money renting it and then have to buy it if I like it, or buy it and then end up stuck with a crappy movie...

Hey, yeah. Then I can just sneak it back if I don't like it. Nice.
