Noi the Albino was indeed a nice film, very enjoyable... gave you a nice sense of the sadness and anger of being immersed in such a bleak environment.. but it also had an optimism about it that i found quite uplifting..
Pi was also really cool and ingenius
I really enjoyed Before Sunset, the Richard Linklater film.. I think the only film of his I truly dig.. so simple, yet so charming...
Taxi Driver is a classic...
my favourite film-maker is Harmony Korine who directed Sunday.. he also qrote the script for Kids and made two classic films of his own, Gummo and Julien Donkey Boy...
Another favourite is Buffallo 66... I once got to meet Vincent Gallo.. very humble man in person despite his arrogant persona in interviews in such...

Ha....I was watching Gummo the other night. Good times.

"He smells-like a pile-of bullshit!!!"

Can't wait to see "Art School Confidental", the latest collarabtion between Terry Zwigoff and Daniel Clowes. "Ghost World" is one of my all-time favorite movies, and ASC looks to be just as good.

The only problem with the movie is that every fucking little stupid punk clique has to have some douchebag named Steve-o in it now.

Not the punk clique that I am sort of on the fringe of (I'm the token conservatively dressed guy that likes post-punk as well)

But I do know this really lame rich kid that only likes 80's hardcore punk and has no appreciation for any CBGBs stuff or 70's stuff besides the Ramones. He has a friend named Steve-O. He also plays warhammer. Go figure.

I watched the Shining again recently, I love that movie.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was shit.

As for movies, I haven't seen that many. I don't know which ones are supposed to be good and the only movie rental store in my town is Blockbuster and it sucks for movies...

I really like House of 1000 Corpes, though (I mention it because I saw it recently).
Liked the Lord of the Rings, though I'm hard pressed to sit through one of the movies, it usually takes me two days to finish one.
Uhhh....the Labryinth and the Dark Crystal are good, but I haven't seen them in a while.
Some of the Monty Python movies are good.
I like live concerts..

Oh yeah, saw Fight Club the other day on TV and really enjoyed it..

I love that movie too.

I'm a Star Wars nerd.

Ready, Teddy, Death is pretty amusing...as long as you don't get too sentimental about your precious.

I don't think it's available in the US, but I think most of you in Europe, Oceana, Japan and Korea can find it...

Hey I'm a real Harmony Korine fan as well... have you read 'A Crackup At The Race Riots'?... it's genius. Gummo is probably my favourite American movie... I say probably because my brain goes into apoplectic spasms when I speculate what my fave American movie could be... because there are so many amazing ones... especially from the 70's.

Jesus don't get me started.

samrago 04.05.2006 01:05 PM

Love and Death by Woody Allen is the greatest film ever created.

Me tooooo. The fact Zwigoff is collaborated again with Clowes makes sure that the movie won't be disappointing. (spelling? sorry)

I just watched Trainspotting for the 1st time this weekend, I thought it was really good.

HaydenAsche 04.05.2006 08:07 PM

Office Space
Slackers
Bottle Rocket
The Big Lebowski

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 04.05.2006 08:25 PM

Rushmore is my favorite Wes Anderson movie. Royal Tennenbaums a close second. I like Bottle Rocket, but it sort of is missing something.
