You can't redeem yourself if you're still living off your parents.

i dont care what you think
im not the only 19 year old whos parents pay for their apartment
and if i was, i wouldnt care
im not trying to live the hard-knock life or anything
i just want to have fun
and thats what im going to do

okay?

So for how long will they pay your rent? Til your 30, 34?

Must be a pretty sweet deal. Can you get them to do all your homework for you? Buy your cars? Invest in your retirement plan?

Hell, with parents like that, why ever work or do anything productive?

HaydenAsche 11.20.2006 02:43 PM

What does your business consist of, bear?

cryptowonderdruginvogue 11.20.2006 02:43 PM

til im out of college, actually
if you really want to know

im an event coordinator
put together events, concerts, and things of that sort

HaydenAsche 11.20.2006 02:44 PM

That sounds terribly lame.

Jesus. Get of his back. If my parents were well off and were offering to rent me an apartment in New York I sure as hell wouldn't turn it down.

Jesus. I'm sorry. That's just so wrong, on so many levels.

But who am I to be critical?

I have nothing against Crypto. I think he's a swell kid, and very funny!

But I think parents do their kids a huge disservice by doing this, well off or not. There's this amazing thing called independence that does wonders for the soul. And as long as you're indebted to your parents for big monetary things, you're never really free of their control.

Nope, I sure did not want my parents to have a thing to do with my life away from home. I would have felt embarrassed to admit to friends that I wasn't paying my own way, for one--it would have been like saying I was still living with my mom and dad. For another, I didn't want my parents to have any presumed right to walk in on me in my apartment--which, believe me, they would have loved to have don--or take away "my" car if they got pissed off at me for some reason, or anything else.

well, i can tell you right now that thats not the situation here
my parents do not try to control me
my car is under my name
i live with them right now
i was going to get my own place but i pretty much have the whole 2nd floor to myself
i can throw parties here whenever as long as everyone stays out of the first floor
i have a pool, a hot tub, a tennis court, a basketball court, a home theater
i have lots of space
my parents dont bother me
infact, i hardly even see them
i dont pay rent

so why move out on my own?
just to please people???
i dont care what people think
i care about how i feel
im happy, and thats ALL that matters to me

cryptowonderdruginvogue 11.20.2006 03:07 PM

my friend moved out and has his own place (rob was actually over there)
he's always late with his rent
he's always stressed out about the light bill
and he's fucking miserable right now
i cant even get him to have fun when we go out

gmku 11.20.2006 03:54 PM

What is it with rich kids thinking life is all about an entitlement to fun?

cryptowonderdruginvogue 11.20.2006 03:56 PM

like i said, i dont care what you or anyone else thinks
as long as im happy

gmku 11.20.2006 03:57 PM

Yeah, I know. I think that's the problem.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 11.20.2006 03:59 PM

maybe it is, maybe its not

do you honestly care though?
you dont know me
what i do or dont do has zero effect on your life

gmku 11.20.2006 04:00 PM

The other thing is, do you know how much street cred you give up by admitting your parents pay for everything?

If you have no choice but to live the life of a spoiled rich kid, be a little more discreet, man. Nobody likes spoiled rich kids who are obvious about it.

Well, yeah, it does, whether you realize it or not. Everything we do matters. I don't expect you to see this, though, given what you've already said, and it's just something you'll either learn or you won't.

cryptowonderdruginvogue 11.20.2006 04:05 PM

i dont care about street cred

plus, all of my other friends are much worse
they dont even work
they are failing out of school
