What the fuck is math rock?

One of the worst things to have happened to music in recent times.So says wikipedia.

But what bands have emerged from it?

Drive Like Jehu is a band people call math rock. They're a wonderful band though.
I think the term math rock came from the fact that the bands have thechnical beats. not like most songs that just have a 4/4 beat. Also, i think it was because the songs changed alot

Nice, good call. I actually knew Deltron 3030 even before I knew Del tha funkee Homosapien. I love how he revolves the whole album around the year 3030 and how music's going to take over.

As for the math rock Static, check out Don Caballero and Weights and Measures. Another artist some consider Math Rock is Q and not U.
