Have you hear the song "Mama Gina"? It's the distortion at the end of that, but I use mine sort of differently.. here, ill popst a sound clip in a sec. |
in really need some more pedals...
|
You got the fuzz factory, if you just have some reverb after it you should already be able to get a great tone.
You can always buy some danos. Some of them are moddable, and others just plain fun. |
For some reason, I bought a Boss TR-2 today.
|
Isn't the Dano tuna melt the same thing for 1/4 the price?
|
nay
|
Had one and it was a good trem but the switching circuit fucked up on it.
|
I placed my rare (no longer made) Boss PS-3 Pitch Shifter/Delay up on ebay right now.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7409197916&rd=1&sspage name=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1 |
I got a Turbo Rat, Digitech RP-80 and a Cyrbaby wah. Nothing special.
I think I'm going to get a Delay or Looper next. http://www.roland.com/products/en/RC-50/index.html That looks pretty cool. EDIT: I just fucking looked at the price for that. $500? no thanks. I also kind of want another distortion. The Rat adds alot of bass to the guitar and it just sounds like muck most of the time. Someone recommend me a Loop and/or Delay pedal. |
The Dom,
There's cheaper loopers: My friend has this and likes it ![]() As for delay, I have this and it's excellent. I paid $180, but even some of the regular delay pedals aren't that much cheaper with less delay time. This has up to 23 seconds and tons of settings like tape simulation, sound on sound, reverse, modulation etc. ![]() Or you could bid on my Boss PS-3 on ebay. HeHe. It has 3 nice delay settings. It is a nice pedal honestly. 2 seconds maximum delay. |
![]() I found this baby yesterday. A DOD FX90 delay. An analog delay fpr $50 and it's pretty f'ing sweet if I do say so myself. It's even cooler because I've been looking at delays on ebay and diff ones in general and thought I wouldn't get away with a good one under 100, but I got it for $50 an i'm stoked! |
Some stuff:

nice pedals! nice Zvex too
|
The RC-50 looks pretty cool to me. But so does the EHX 2880. I can't afford either one, but maybe someday.

![]() ![]() I just found one of these tonight used for decent price. I need to learn how to tweak it, but it has a nice long and slow sweeping flange that I have been looking for. The filter matrix mode is pretty cool too. |
Have any of you guys played with a Moogerfooger Ring Modulator? Those look like they would give you a buttload of insane options.
|
I played one and it was quite cool. I tried an EH Freq Analyzer ring mod today that I will own eventually at half the price of a moog one.
|
Yeah the Moog one seems a little expensive. I guess you are probably paying a little for the "Moog" name too. But damn, it sounds like it could do so much.

If I could go back in time, I would have saved a bit of money for the moogerfooger. Here is why: AS you know, a ring mod plays a tone X, controlled by a knob. It adds and subtracts the frequency value of that tone from whatever you play. The Moog has a larger range of frequency's to choose from including very low ones that allow you to get pulsating tremolo sounds more than ring mod. The moog also has an LFO- which basically adds square or sine vibrato to the internal pitch. Not to mention that you can control everything with expression pedals or other CV devices. Nice feature. |

I have a fooger ring mod and it's something like google. After one year of researches I'm finding some stable intuitions but I still find new things. it's very hallucinogenic!! where do you connect the exp pedal Krastian? do you use even the 'LFO out'? |
![]() my fucking pride and passion, a custom made fuzzbox, originally Univox Superfuzz scheme, named after ... guess who! my other guitar stuff sucks (but i use more clean tone and fuzz btw) DOD Supra Distortion Proel cheap ass wah- it sucks. |

Haha! The guy that makes those is actually a good friend of mine and I love his stuff! I want it, but cannot afford it! His newest delay is the bee's knees. |

Ha ha.....well I'm actually a drummer. I play some guitar, but I don't have any pedals right now. My friends say that I am better than a lot of people who claim to play guitar even though I think I'm not so hot. I think I have a pretty good ear for music and I'm assuming my experience with rhythm helps me out. I pretty much just take the Jad Fair approach of "the nearer to the body of the guitar the higher of a sound you get and the nearer to the tuning end the lower of a sound you get." I don't really know chords or anything. |

![]() i need more of them |
I own my friend's blue box now. Sounds a lot better after doing that mod to it.
|
I have only one, the Boss MD-2 Mega Distortion, but I don't like it that much. If I use the rhythm pickup, it's sound like I'm playing through a plastic box or something..
Julian! how is the Boss blues driver? |
Quote:
it sounds awesome with the ds1 |

i bought one of these a few days ago and i like it alot. and i just got this one today: ![]() it sounds amazingly superior to my other one. |
here my boards..the first one is based on the Lee's board, I dont play any sy covers though, rather I love the sound of this platform that is very interesting for me. I added a couple of modulation effects cause they are okay to design my landscapes.
![]() ![]() I'm not a guitarist, rather a taxi driver ![]() Screw you guys, I'm going home! |
my pedal board,

![]() new muff!!! |
You're making me miss my Blue Box.
|
Here's a recent pic, the small stone is gone now.

12?
|
That's a great rack you got there. The moog looks so 1970s.
