I took a chance on Bardo Pond purchasing the album based solely on the album art and it opened a whole new world of sound up for me.

i'm listening to hash jar tempo - well oiled, which, i think, consists of members of Bardo Pond, but it's not as outstanding as i thought it would be. really not bad though.

not commenting on the scissor shock comparison, cause it's ludicrous.

hash jar tempo is, i think, bardo pond without isobel solenberger, but with the addition of roy montgomery. i really like that well oiled album, although it is a long listen

You know, I've known about Bardo Pond for close to a year now, and they are very talented, indeed. But not the best ever. Certainly a very enjoyable and kick ass band. I love the titles that not so subtley refer to drugs: Amanita (mushrooms), Anandamide (THC-like chemical naturally found in the brain), Bufo Alvarius (psychedelic toads), etc.

they are a perfect trip-to band.

I also love the name of the scene they belong to: "Psychedelphia". How fucking cool is that?

I just might've scored Amanita for almost criminally cheap from the summer sale of CDON. Oh Joy, there's a possibility that they've run out though.

Now that Rather Ripped didn't turn out to be as hot shit to look forward as I would've wanted, Ticket Crystals is the only new release I want pretty badly. (I don't really follow what's going on with the new stuff anyway)

you really can't go wrong with any bardo pond album, but the first album I got was dilate. It's a good balance of their folky side and their heavier side.

The CD-R series is great too.

Volume II is amazing!

just read, that the alasehir stuff is going to be released both on CD (important records) and vinyl (siltbreeze). good news for me.

I bought a CDR called Matter House by Clint Takeda and Ahmed Salvador (of Goldenbrown - a band of whom I have never heard) at ATP last Christmas - never seen any mention of it anywhere else. It's quite drone-y stuff. If anyone wants to hear it, PM me, and I'll upload it.
