PAVEMENT
POLVO |
polvo are back together... for at least one show.
pavement will get back together, mark my words.. |
80's indie band? Most of their shit came out in the 90's with I think maybe one EP coming out in '89. Hmph..
But yeah, Malkmus has said before he'll probably eventually get back together with Pavement. Spiral Stairs said it's "most definitely going to happen". Malkmus has already done whole sets of nothing but Pavement songs. Personally, I hope it doesn't happen. Pavement sucked after Wowee... they're one of the last bands I hope reforms, but I just know it's inevitable.. |
Right. But one show, that 's too less.
Concerning Pavement, I read on Malkmus forum that Spiral stairs was at his wedding, and they told about reform in 2009... I'm not sure it's true. |
Oh well. I'd probably go see them, I guess, if only to hear baptist blackstick.. or to do that old tradition of yelling out "new face in hell" during the chorus for "conduit for sale" just for, y'know, fun.
|
Gold Soundz.... Kentucky cocktail...In the mouth a desert...Half a Canyon...Fight this generation...
|
Not agree, but it's not important.
Ok, an other one : My Bloody Valentine. |
I'd like Sleep to reform and do a one-off performance of "Jerusalem". Support would be the original line-up of Electric Wizard, doing a 50-minute version of Supercoven".
|
What about the Stooges getting back together? They could get Mike Watt to play bass and record a whole new album. They could even get Steve Albini to produce it.
|
...and people could then buy this album, hear it once, and shout "what the fuck is this horseshit?". Still, rather that than see Bobby Gillespie's My Bloody Valentine..."The Valentines? Sheer concrete funk, man. They're the missing link between George Clinton and Can".
|
Person to Bobby Gillespie: "What are you listening to Bobby?"
Bobby Gillespie to Person: "A Mahalia Jackson bootleg" Person to Bobby Gillespie: "Why?" Bobby Gillespie to Person: "Because I'm a prick." Person to Bobby Gillespie: "oh." |
^^^Ha! My idea of Hell: being stuck in a pub with B Gillespie, Paul Weller and Jools Holland, all trying to out-impress each other on their knowledge of rare Dr. John B-sides and Erykah Badu funky house remixes.
|
Haha a girl into smashing pumpkins who refuses to listen to Pavement cuz Pavement "dissed 'em."
What a fucking moron, hahaha. "THEY DON'T LIKE BILLY MCSHITVOICE I WILL NEVER LISTEN TO THEM!" I wonder if she turned 18 yet and realized the Pumpkins have always been terrible.. |
Quote:
When did Pavement have things to say? Their lyrics are some of the most terribly written ever. Even Brett Anderson could do better than that. |
Quote:
In terms of songwriting the Pumpkins are far better in my opinion (sorry if my post doesn't reek of indie snobbery :D). |

ha! repped!!!! and agreed....... natures kids and they have no function.... stone temple pilots, elegant batchelors........... i refuse to listen to the pumpkins because they are awful and billy no mates corgan actually was very rude to steve malkmus about the range life song calling him a waster and a stoner trying to be a rock star.......... it was in nme or something around the summer of 1992, i thought it was a tad....... ironic! |
Quote:
im not sure what part of that sentence to comment on first!!!! ill leave it lie!;) |
haircut one hundred and living in a box to reform and play double headliners.....
|
nah, i'd take the worst of pavement over the best of pumpkins.

Correct. If youre going to sing about nothing you should do it with some flair, which i think Pavement do. And yeah, expect 3 dates at the Roundhouse by the end of 2008. |
3rd King Crimson: Fripp, Bill Bruford, David Cross, John Wetton.

Yes!!! And with Palmer-James writing the lyrics! Bravo! At least one small problem, sadly: Bill Bruford's been dead almost a decade! From more 'recent' years: Live Skull, Band of Susans, and Eric's Trip. (And I think it's about time some initiative was taken to collect and reissue all those old Eric's Trip 7", 12" and cassette-only releases.) |

Fugazi is the only band that I can think of right now. Because I know they'd make a fantastic record, where as alot of the bands I may want to reform, may ruin their image for me if they were to make a stinker.

Wow! That's great! He's really alive--'back from the dead', as it were, considering as how he was a Jeopardy clue some 6 or 7 years ago: "Sadly, this former drummer for progressive rockers Yes and King Crimson passed away in 1997(?)." Or something like that. The exact anawer-question now eludes me. I seem to recall his 'death' getting mentioned on Much Music as well.... |
Boz died in 2006 and Ian Wallace early this year, thats it for dead Krimso
