Why not make your own conclusion based on your own experience?

That's all I really have to say. Welcome to the board, but hopefully you'll be more open-minded about meeting people than taking another person's word for it.:)

Don't worry khchris, I'm not out to choose friends based on popular opinion. I was simply looking out for the perma-trolls. It doesn't seem like there are any here, at least none I've seen...which is shocking, but encouraging. Seems like a nice community.

Anyway, thanks for the welcome. :D

Thanks & Sonic Life!

edit - I just realized this is probably considered off topic for this section....sorry. :(

Shayna 05.19.2006 10:39 PM

Well, for one I don't find domestic abuse funny.

Neongod 05.20.2006 09:46 PM

That is a pretty fucked up sig, Rhys.

acousticrock87 05.20.2006 09:48 PM

Hah that was pretty direct.

And she created a friendly post introducing herself.

flophousefloozie 05.20.2006 09:57 PM

to be honest, i just like to sit back and observe most contoversial topics on here. To simple minded ones like this i will reply. looking forward to reading some of yours, so have fun

p.s. what are the green blocks for?

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 05.20.2006 10:02 PM

Self-esteem. When people click your little weight thing under your avatar, you get rep points. The blocks give you a rep level.

flophousefloozie 05.20.2006 10:11 PM

alright. the popularity contest is ON.

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 01:10 AM

I'm relatively new here and this place would be a lot better without Hayden Asche and also the "taste police." If you want to fit in with this mostly juvenile crowd you have to believe whatever you think average Sonic Youth fans would stereotypically believe. If you think for yourself, you'll get negative rep points.

Well put, DN. Well put.

acousticrock87 05.21.2006 03:11 AM

Rep points should be the last thing you think about. It's like real life. If you try to get more, you'll either change who you are or be really disappointed.

atsonicpark 05.21.2006 07:46 AM

Who cares.

I dont really care about the Rep points but Ive gotten no negative and a lot of people dont agree with what i say. I think its good to say fuck conform.

alyasa 05.21.2006 10:30 AM

I guess having negative rep points when you've just joined means no one will talk to you, or listen to what you say... You'll become a non-entity, a non-corporate ghost.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 05.21.2006 10:34 AM

they'll warm up.

alyasa 05.21.2006 10:46 AM

Yeah, eventually... Everything's eventual. :)

exactly. daycare only gets negative rep because he makes threads that flat out say "IM RIGHT AND YOURE WRONG" and then makes fun those who disagree. who can blame someone for giving negative rep?

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 05:31 PM

Hayden is the one who did that. You people ignore it because he's your little friend.

What a terrible terrible response. I'd tell you to be ashamed of your self if I gave a shit.

1. Average Sonic Youth fan? You have very obviously not payed any attention to my posts. I like about 4 Sonic Youth records. How does this translate into me and the "taste police"'s views being that of an average Sonic Youth fan.

2. I'm sure that you are far above this "mostly juvenile crowd" with your terrible opinions on music.

So, let's get this straight. I can't sarcastically say that your opinion is wrong without you putting me on your ignore list BUT you can be a complete tasteless twat who thinks his opinion is fact? I guess it works. Too bad you suck.

Is this really necessary?

Observations are observed facts. An observation is NOT an opinion. Therefore, you implyed that whatever you observed was fact.

Completely incompetent.

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 05:38 PM

"Umm, no. My opinion is fact.

Deal with it.

Cunt.

--hmmm, who thinks their opinion is fact...could it be Hayden???

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 05:43 PM

observe: to watch carefully especially with attention to details or behavior for the purpose of arriving at a judgment

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 05:44 PM

fact: a piece of information presented as having objective reality

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 05:45 PM

hmm...so an observation is when we pay attention to details in order to make a judgment about something. Could it be that Hayden doesn't know that?

HaydenAsche 05.21.2006 05:58 PM

Yes, but you CAN NOT observe an opinion.

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 06:05 PM

You observed my opinion when I wrote it on the forum.

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 06:06 PM

And then said your own opinion was a fact...and now you are saying I did that.

HaydenAsche 05.21.2006 06:10 PM

Argh! Listen, you can observe someone's opinion YES but you CAN NOT observe that something is the best, most creative, most boring, etc. It doesn't work like that. You can OBSERVE the music and make your own assumptions and opinions. Do you understand what I am saying?

Yes, I said that my opinion is fact. It is called sarcasm. Get the fuck over it.

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 06:22 PM

What I don't understand is that you can say your own opinion is a fact, but I never said that...and now you are making it look like I did, when you are the one who wrote it.

If you look at the definition of "observation" above, it is clear that to observe, one pays attention to details and then makes a judgment. I observed, made judgments and wrote them down.

I wasn't talkin about facts. You were.

finding nobody 05.21.2006 06:26 PM

"I don't think so. My fact is a fact. Your fact is still an opinion."

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 06:26 PM

Yes, that was sarcasm.

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 06:28 PM

and that was a resonse to Hayden's comment that his opinion was fact--note that he is the first to say that his opinion was fact

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 06:30 PM

He was just picking on me because he disagrees with my opinion.

noisemachine 05.21.2006 06:47 PM

Just curious, but Daycare Nation, why do you post 3 times in a row when you could easily post all those comments in one post. And if you just forgot to add something, use the "edit" button. No offense here, its just kind of annoying having to read 3 short posts that really belong in one.

Neongod 05.21.2006 06:52 PM

How about moving this into PM's? Sounds funny coming from me, but I figured I'd pass on the advice someone else gave me.

I know! I'm saying that those were your 'judgements'. I forget the term for judgements based on observations right now but observations would be something like "The dog has black spots". Judgements would be something along the lines of "This dog is better than the other one."

Therefore, you didn't post observations.

Just sayin'.

PMs suck anyways.

POST COUNT! POST COUNT!

Daycare Nation 05.21.2006 07:15 PM

No.
