Slayer's still awesome, but Tom Araya's voice has somewhat detoriated in recent years I think.
Anyway, nothing interesting in the lineup so far for my tastes. |
i still think i'll go, ATP is always fun
Neil Hamburger!
naked city would be the only way id even think of going
i really really hope to see isis one day.
ive seen isis three times, once in boston after celestial came out, another time in boston after oceanic came out, and once opening for tool. rules every time. i was pissed when they left boston to go to cali.

Isis is nu - metal for indie kids pretty much
metal for pussies
how do you figure? celestial was fucking brutal, and oceanic was one of the most beautful metal records ever. "nu metal" for indie kids makes no sense. nu metal was for the most part not even metal. and theres definitley a lot of people who dont give a shit about indie who love isis. if you could say something like, "i dont like that band", that would be fine.
brutal? you sure? ok dude
jesus christ, talking music with you is like talking politics with my bigoted republican grandfather. goes nowhere.

cut more taxes

haha, yeah. thats the one i went to. gotta love the tweeter center. but my friend, a tool fanatic had an extra ticket. i love aenima but hadnt listened to them in ages, but i figured fuck it, its free, ill get stoned and go, whatever. then my buddy was like, "i guess theres some opening band, isis, or some shit". i was stoked. not only was isis great, but tool's performace totally re-ignited my interest in the band.

want to discuss wold? Quote:
you listen to pop noise rock for indie kids, (clockcleaner). |
isis is metal for ex straight edge hardcore kids (like myself).
for the record, i don't even think isis are very metal, but i still love them.
yeah they have evolved over time but at the time i started listening to them i would consider them metal.
celestial is very doomy, yeah.
celestial is their most metal, oceanic is their best record. panopticon is good, i dont like in the absence of truth.

if you like... i don't know if there's that much to duscuss about them though |

Wold is rad, really good |
yeah, but what else is there to say about them? whether you prefer screech owl to LOTMP? What else?
or how much more lo fi can they be?
how much of a noise band they are (or representants of a black metal/noise hybrid)? are they even bm? the fact that they are from saskatchewan (not a region known for having a vibrant music scene), the impact of profound lore records, etc.
sure, not the most controversial band but... |

Actually, to the best of my knowledge, they only put out two pre-Patton albums. We Care A Lot, which is apparently their first album, came out after they were already together for a few years (they were originally named Faith No Man). Maybe I'm wrong. If you know of any earlier recordings, lemme know. I'd like to hear them with their other singers. I still muchly enjoy Introduce Yourself. "Anne's Song", "Death March", and "The Crab Song" are great. I haven't heard all of We Care A lot, but I'm downloading it right now:p Quote:
I completely agree about Angel Dust. To me all of their albums have some greatness to them. In my eyes Faith No More did more right than wrong. One of those things was probably breaking up when they did. Do you think they knew they were going to break up when they titled their final album Album of the Year? I mean, man, how the fuck could they expect top the album of the year??;P |
check out zu. italian punk jazz with drums, bass, and sax. some think buzzo will perform with them. he did some collaboration on their next album.
Well, I'm definitely going to this - we booked up today. Looking forward to 3 days of music, fresh sea air and serious amounts of drinking.
I think this one will largely be a rock guitar style driven ATP, not that thats a bad thing its just I would like to see something a little more innovative. I bet it will still be a good one though and still one of the best festivals out there.
