Of the three 2008 albums I have bought so far, my favorite by far is the new Portishead album.

i don't think occasion is the same album as grandeur of hair, i hear an evolution going on.

Am a huuuge fan of the new Fleet Foxes. Fiendishly so...

the new no age, boris and portishead are my favorites of the year so far. i'm sure i like others but i forgot most of 2008's releases. i don't fancy the new nick cave as of right now. i'll keep giving it a listen.

EN theres definatly a progression, but it is still the same basic formula. i lover it and its a winning formula, just sayin. and i will now DL that album, if only for the artwork. was of the better covers that i have seen as of recent but not as good as while my guitar violently bleeds, i want to make a shirt with that pic on it...

no age is good, i like them, good ol' power pop, i thought wierdo rippers was a helluva lot better than the new one though.

damn, i also forgot xiu xiu's 'women as lovers'. i loved that record, almost as good as la foret me thinks.

the xiu xiu women as lovers CD I bought was (unknown to me) one of 500 with a complememtary DVD with 15 videos and tour footage and pictures and all sorts fo cool xiu xiu stuff.

don't see the comparison between ac and no age.

it's like saying "megadeth makes snoop dog sound like carol king".

only connection i've ever heard is that NA's song "impossible bouquet" sounds similar to AC's "Kids On Holiday", and it kinda does... aside from that, they both make good music that is kinda indie and kinda pop?

id say no age is kinda kinda kinda kinda shoegaze and really power pop.

animal collective is kinda pop kinda folk kinda experimental kinda everything.

those bands really do have nothing in common.

animal collective and no age sound nothing alike... the only thing they have in common is they both seemed to get really popular out of nowhere.

The new xiu xiu... ehhhhhhhhh... maybe they're just starting to get old to my ears.

i think the new xiu xiu is as good as anything theyve done. theyre touring with prurient. thats gonna be a tense crowd.

i saw them when they toured with yellow swans, it was nice.

I haven't listened to anything from 2008, and I only bought 3 or 4 albums from 2007. I'm too busy discovering the past.

decided to check this out, as I generally find myself enjoying anything you very passionately stand behind. I'm extremely glad I did. Stunning album. I listened to it last night while trying to sleep and it created such a beautiful soundscape.
