SONIC GAIL 10.12.2009 09:21 AM

Good mornin mr sway...knew youd pick up on that one. I love that fuckin song! I think I found it by total accident on limewire.

I've got Pavement covering Expressway.

AAAA 10.14.2009 02:19 PM

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Beck's cover of "Green Light" he released a few months ago. I remember hearing that Beck was gonna do a full cover of EVOL (along with other albums such as The Velvet Underground & Nico). Does anyone know if he's worked on that yet?

badgercorn 10.14.2009 03:55 PM

I thought the Yeah Yeah Yeahs version of the Diamond Sea was pretty good. Similar sound to some of the stuff on Karen O's Where The Wild Things Are OST.

skipvacuum 10.14.2009 04:36 PM

i don't know what "jane as police woman" is but sacred trickster is covered on this bbc session

automatic bzooty 10.14.2009 07:02 PM

beck's cover of the diamond sea is just some guitar strums and harmonica. sort of to the tune of, sort of not. like a very brief adlib/segue type thing. kinda sketch and not really a cover.

anyone wanna hook me up with cat power's sonic youth/skip spence cover?

EVOLghost 01.19.2010 04:12 PM

I don't think any of the bands I've listened to in the past have covered a Sonic Youth song.

The cover of ''Green Light''(Beck) is amazing.

GeneticKiss 01.25.2010 01:25 PM

I've thrown out the idea of doing "Kill Yr Idols" with my band, but nothing's been done yet...

Thanks so much!!! I can't wait to listen to it

nuplastikk 02.01.2010 05:54 AM

Jason Lowenstein and crew did a killer cover of white kross live.
Dos-PCH

I feel like I should be able to name more.

The William Hooker CD is easy to find online and cheap. any self-respecting SY fan should have a few WH albums.

Confuse Yr Idols is a GREAT tribute album. Except for that ska track. What the fuck was that about?

Guess what their album "It's A Sonic Life" is mainly about.

Where/when did Cat Power cover Psychic Hearts?

Beck doing Diamond Sea would very interesting to hear. But better yet, Beck with The Flaming Lips doing a SY cover would even MORE interesting.

"Psychic Hearts" and "Johnny's Got a Gun" were recorded at Laundry Rules $10/HR two days before departing Portland on June 1 or 2, 1996.
