sometimes when i'm disoriented at work and i need a semi-social pause. i don't have "co-workers".

i figure if i worked in an office i'd post here too because i'd prefer this place to "co-worker" chat about what was on tv last night and have you heard britney spears got a 3rd tit.

other times because i like a good number of people here-- yes, the internet is a cesspool, but this particular place is better than most.

other times because, like demonrail said, you can start a conversation about pretty much anything. and i mean a conversation, not a shouting match.

i post because of gaps of nothing happening at work...i come here because of the funny shit that goes down. oh and to start arguments about vivian girls.

I love messageboards, but when I first joined this one I hardly posted at all. I think around that time I also joined a Mojave 3 msgbrd and a Morrissey one. The Mojave 3 one was pretty dead, and the Mozz one small but with a few really active posters, who mostly posted to each other. Not very welcoming really. And I didn't think much of this one either, which was why I fucked off!

So I rejoined mostly because I quit WoW and needed something to fill up my time. And you're not horrible at all!

I post here because you can talk about anything with people who all like sonic youth and other music one could expect from a knowledgeable SY fan. This is also the same reason I lurked for a while before joining, and can't be arsed to sit here all day.

In middle school/early high school I was a regular poster on some message boards that now kinda embarass me to think about (well, one in particular...AOHell Goth Boards....jeeez.) It was dorky but also introduced me to a lot of music and ideas that I would have otherwise never known about. None of my friends growing up had similiar interests and message boards allowed me to explore my "alternative" taste.

I was trying to avoid message boards throughout college because they took up so much of my time. I recently joined this forum and I love it. It's great to be able to have conversations with people who are on the same page. Most of my friends in the real world are sick of listening to me reference Sonic Youth and other music related things.

when i was at work it was a way to pass the time but now i dont post as much anymore. i just dont find anything here that interesting. its mainly repetetive argumunts and tedious picture posting, people shouting others down etc. i prefer to do other things.

i must say- i think its funny how some of u guys that avg like 10 posts a day & have like 10,000+ some odd posts comlain about how this board is boring. :rolleyes:

haha well done, I know a few people who got trapped in that fantasy world. This is a great forum, so many awesome people and enough quality posts to fuel my interest.

Yeah, I keep in touch with some people who've quit WoW. Mostly it was pretty harmless I think, but there were times I look back on and feel really embarrassed with myself.

Wow, I didn't even realize I had over 18,000 posts actually. Fuck.

I always get a good laugh every time I come here. I love this place.
