I like it..
the production is ok, sounds like the last few albums.

imo

nicfit 04.20.2009 10:39 AM

doesn't sound at all like the last few albums, imo...I mean, the song might be in a similar vein, but the production is not imo.
imo imo imo
acronyms ftw.

ha ha i laughed. damn me and my lack of lexicon.

[Sandbag] 04.20.2009 10:46 AM

on the 4th listen i like it better...

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 04.20.2009 12:10 PM

"What's it like to be a girl in a band?"

I wonder where that line came from? Every interview she's ever had?

summer 04.20.2009 01:30 PM

Yeah I am also confused about John working with BYOP, I mean, didn't they break up or something. Maybe you mean some new band that the members are involved in?

dionysusundone 04.20.2009 01:49 PM

John's producing the Jemina solo album, not BYOP

blunderbuss 04.20.2009 01:52 PM

That got me tapping my toes - a few more listens and I'll probably be whistling along.

Yeah I was gonna say that.. BYOP are no more, luckily the lineup of Jemina's solo band contains John Eatherly and Max Peebles of Turbo Fruits (as far as I know) so that's exciting. We can do without Jonasty.

nicfit 04.20.2009 01:54 PM

the fuck, the louder the volume the better the song gets. GREAT work, John.

Danny Himself 04.20.2009 01:56 PM

Agnello definitely needs kudos here, the new Dino album sounded immense and this new mp3 bodes well..

nicfit 04.20.2009 01:57 PM

The only think I could ask to add is Jimbo on tamburine.

nancykitten 04.20.2009 01:59 PM

It's good : )

nicfit 04.20.2009 02:03 PM

Lee's guitar at 1:22 freaks me out!

summer 04.20.2009 02:04 PM

Is John working on Dino's new album coming out in a few months?

ni'k 04.20.2009 03:12 PM

this is actually really good and far better than i thought it would be. i think most people are cautiously waitin to reserve their judgements until there becomes an official consensus among the people with thousands of posts here so they don't have to risk looking over enthusiastic and get flamed. this is the direction i hoped they would move in.

joe11121 04.20.2009 03:15 PM

Yes!! Sounds great! I think the Vocals, music, and production is great! Very, very promising! I'm expecting this album to blow Sonic Nurse and Rather Ripped out of the fucking park!

ni'k 04.20.2009 04:01 PM

the production is one of the best clean/heavy rock sounds ive heard in ages. the drums are were they should be - down below the gtrs without overpowering them unlike every other fucking rock production this decade

_slavo_ 04.20.2009 04:16 PM

Am I the only one who doesn't like this tune?

joe11121 04.20.2009 04:43 PM

What don't you like about it slavo?

I find this song really addictive, it's stuck in my head as of now. neat atmosphere!

summer 04.20.2009 06:02 PM

I'm kind of afraid I'm just going to get burnt out on this song before the actual album gets here haha. You know I haven't bought an actual CD in ages, but I might get The Eternal, really. My excuse when I was younger was that all we have is Wal-Mart and they didn't have ANY of the music I wanted.. I live in the middle of nowhere so forget about the concept of a "record store". But now since we live in more of a digital age than when I was 12 and it was 2002, well.. I have no excuse not to buy a few here and there from my favorite bands, I suppose.

deflinus 04.20.2009 06:42 PM

i like it a lot. reminds me of their Goo album. i'm trying not to listen to it too much or else i'd get sick of it when the album comes out

sarramkrop 04.20.2009 06:44 PM

I'd like to share your enthusiasm, and I've listened to it a few times. It's crap. Rubbish. Shit.

jennthebenn 04.20.2009 06:47 PM

Haven't listened to it yet; been too busy working, working out, writing,
leaving doctors offices after being kept waiting a half hour past the
appointed time. The fact that the dissenting voices are posters I respect
makes me go "Hmm, I wonder..."

I should just listen to the fucker now, then.

summer 04.20.2009 06:57 PM

sarramkrop I'm curious, what's your favorite Sonic Youth? Every topic I see you in you seem to be quite negative. Maybe you're into the early 80s Youth?

sarramkrop 04.20.2009 07:00 PM

I pretty much love all their records up to Murray Street, give or take some of the songs on each of those albums. A few tracks on the last two albums are good too. I am negative and evil by nature, not much I can do about it.

automatic bzooty 04.20.2009 07:01 PM

FUCK YEAH.

summer 04.20.2009 07:13 PM

Hm so are you including Murray Street in the "I like it" or "I don't care for it" side of things? I love Murray Street

jennthebenn 04.20.2009 07:14 PM

Very Goo-ey. I like that. The first 25 seconds, that's a Wild Planet-style
riff. Although I am probably the only human being who would hear
it and think, yeah, Ricky Wilson.

Kim is sublime. Some things don't change.

Short, to the point. Will kill live.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 04.20.2009 07:23 PM

Sounds good enough to me. :)

I'm pretty sure I remember him saying he liked Murray Street and felt like betrayed or something when Sonic Nurse came out. I saw something like this on another thread but I cannot remember it word for word.

canabero 04.20.2009 08:29 PM

The new songs that i've heard give me a hope to hear a decent album.

terminal pharmacy 04.20.2009 08:38 PM

I had a listen to ST and it sounds promising, but I find it hard to judge SY on a single song basis, I prefer to listen to the song in context of the whole album...
