I usually declare WM as my favorite SY lp, but when stacked up against CIS...I just can't vote for it. CIS is so gritty and raw, and with outstanding tracks such as The World Looks Red, and Protect Me You it really bites my sonic nerve just the right way.

Confusion, I love the claustrophobic feel.
Its easily their heaviest, harshest record.
SOme of the songs are almost frightening.

Washing Machine on the other hand is hit or miss for me, sometimes I really feel that album and other times it just bores me.

Confusion on the other hand can always move me.

whatever, they are both awesome albums. it's very difficult to compare them though.

Yeah totally. I mean, I think neither one is perfect, but they both have their moments. I think that CIS was a lot more important though, very influential and extremely original at the time, and that's why I'm glad it won.
