(seriously. when i was 11 i broke my wrist too and i had this big plaster cast, but i was so addicted to videogames at the time that i found a way to play nonetheless)

The big news there, though, is clearly that Lee plays tennis.

Nope, that's old news.

Although, when I first read that Lee's wrist was injured, I immediately thought he had probably crashed his bicycle and injured his wrist while catching himself in the fall.

But the tennis injury makes more sense. Injuries to the wrist are fairly common among tennis enthusiasts, although you certainly hear more frequently about "tennis elbow." Anyway, there's a lot of tenderness over the hamate bone in some of these fractures and I understand it makes it pretty damn painful to grip anything.

Hope he heals well and soon!

Maybe it could be a way for them to create something totally new? Think about it, the fact that their gear got stolen circa 99 let them change their sound to something new and totally awesome (ie NYC Ghosts & Flowers). We're in 2009 now, so ten years later maybe the fact that Lee is only able to play with one hand right now might lead them to something new.
I'm taking bets on a new Sonic Youth album called "Songs in a plaster" by 2010, including some brand new Plaster screenching noise action.
