Bit discriminating that innit |
not at all, if you listen to other Keith albums enough (like First Come First Serve) then you'll see what I mean.
|
I tried to like it a few years back but found the beats were weak. They were repetitively boring and ultimately lacked base. Black Elvis was marginally better.
..anyway i don't wanna slag keith off, cos he's keith. I prefer to ignore...unless i'm pissed, so figure that one out. |
the Dooom beats are fantastic. I don't know what you're hearing. Relisten to "No Chorus" at least.
Black Elvis definitely has some great beats too. Same year. |
Anyone who could listen to 'Dr Dooom's In The Room' and complain that the album has no good beats is... well I just don't understand it at all.
|
Lost Masters is great.

ah, so that's why kool keith and neil hamburger both played Patton/Melvins ATP
|
Quote:
Patton is a friend of "Neil Hamburger" and is also a big Kool Keith fan. |
I think Lost Masters is so-so.
|
Best rapper ever? I think so.
Is Cooking With Satan some large musician going undercover? He knows a lot of inside info it seems.. |
Best Rapper Ever????
no. Far from it. I love Kool Keith. Waaaay more than a normal person. But in no way would I ever agree with that statement. |
Coolest rapper? Most insane rapper? Swaggest rapper?
|
I'd say spaciest rapper. Or Most Self-Assured rapper. Maybe MAYBE most interest rapper. Craziest rapper. Uniquest rapper.

First Come First Served is a fucking masterpiece. It is BY FAR the best thing Keith has ever done. I have a handful of MUST OWN albums by him. But FCFS is un-fuckking-believable |
I like First Come First Served a lot but I don't think it's the classic some of you are making it out to be. As far as Kool Keith goes, I don't think he's made any classic albums but he's always consistent.
|
None of you will agree but this is my favourite Kool Keith album so far:
![]() EDIT: Actually this seems like a popular one. |
^yeah that's a really popular one. I like it a lot. My favorites are First Come and Undertakerz though.
|
I really like Spankmaster because of Yes Yes Y'all with Esham.
![]() Although Keith has a great flow, and is obviously one of the more intelligent emcees out there - I really have to be in the mood for him, or else he can be off-putting. But I really like his voice, it's very unique, and Dr. Dooom rules! Oh, and his verse on Esham's Tongues! Hell yeah Kool Keith. |
Spankmaster has great production.
Dr. Dooom's First Come First Served it by far my fav. Joe have you heard Thee Undatakerz? You'd love it. Kool Keith horrorcore. Brillaint record. My 2nd fav. |
Will definitely check it out NR.
NATAS NATAS SATAN SATAN NATAS NATAS SATAN |
u got me on an ICP kick... then youhad me in the mood for Korn... one thing at a time bro.

Someone needs to tell him to call his ol' buddy DJ Shadow.
Used to b a fav. mc of mine, but It's been crap since the glory days (1996) except for a few exceptions (black elvis is ok) |
Quote:
his "old friend DJ Shadow"? Shadow did a remix on the Octagon record. I doubt he even met Keith. |

I did that earlier, I got 7/10. The ones i got wrong were when i thought it was Joyce rather than Keith. Considering i know nothing about the latter and like to think i know the style of the former i was relieved. BTW youre not Bill Orcutt are you? |
Quote:
Not sure about that one, I'm sure they've meet and are familiar with each other. Dan "The Automator" Nakamura produced most of the Dr. Octagonecologyst album who is thick as thieves with Shadow, along with Kut Masta Kurt, along with the album being released on MO'Wax in the UK. Highly unlikely Shadow and Keith are strangers to each other. Sex Style anyone? I've only heard the single, Plastic World... and it destroys whack MCs biting Keith's style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CYbO...feature=colike |
Quote:
ok fine, it's possible they've met each other. But you made it sound like they'd WORKED together extensively in the past. Which they did not. It was a bit confusing. |
Seckle, rudeboys.
|
Fair enough.
|
i'm not orcutt
|
Quote:
I think she must have meant Dan. But Keith was the primary creative force. |
Quote:
haha. i thought not. He shared it on facebook this morning. Dunno why i asked really |

Well, though that would provide me with a good "out", it's not true. I'm just not very hip-hop savvy. I thank you for the opportunity ;) but no. Eventually people would find out. Whoever makes the atmosphere on that album. I guess I thought Shadow was a bigger part of it. Maybe I'm thinking of something else. |
Automator on the fader.

I just love me some Kool Keith and all of his various personalities ;) |
cut that sig down, fucking hell.

No, its my protest version of gast. Since nobody else is here on this forum but a bunch of lurkers, why not Kobe Bryant ball hog it up on all the bandwidth ;) (and if an oversized image of the Virgin Mary disturbs you that much, you've got your own sins to worry about, believe it or not, I posted that in my sig for artistic reasons, not necessarily religious, I'm orthodox, not only do we not have statues, but this degree of realism would be considered offensive) |
fair enough.
