What will they make of just me and my laptop?

On that tip, as someone who's not quite rock n' roll, I've not heard anything yet. Although in fairness I did send him a massive list of things that are good that he should put on.

On Friday he told me that he liked the songs he's listened to on myspace and sent you guys a message. Is that the case? Was it a confirmation? I will send you a pm with my address.

I meant to ask him if he's the only one choosing the bands because I'm sure he isn't. Some of the ones that mede it on the line up are so crap. I know that they will extend the license to make more room for a larger number of bands, but I'd rather if quality, rather than quantity, was the aim.

Thanks GD. I don't really want to be the only noodler there! :)

Chaaaaaaarrrrlieeeeeeee...Did you pick up that CD I left for you?

Glice 04.27.2010 05:21 AM

That's excellent news. I was a bit worried, I think that house might be cursed, but don't tell anyone I said that.

Genteel Death 04.28.2010 06:44 AM

T&B - Yes, VVSR are confirmed, check your myspace inbox.

Glice - Keran told me that he still didn't have the time to check all your suggestions but will go through them all, at one point.

Charlie - Did Keran contact you? If he hasn't, please let me know and I'll send him a reminder.

Apparently the profile of this festival has risen in the media.

Keran said I'm in, which is nice. He's also said that's he's going to contact a couple of the bands I suggested. I really hope Charlie's playing in some capacity (Solar Flares! They never play where I can see them).

Genteel Death 04.28.2010 01:54 PM

That's good news. Fuck Knuckles almost certainly in.

Genteel Death 04.28.2010 01:55 PM

Also, if Mel Ashtray Navigations reads this, what happened to you?

Glice 04.28.2010 02:20 PM

I have a mate who's mates with Ash Nav if Mel doesn't re-surface.

Toilet & Bowels 04.30.2010 07:22 AM

this is going to be fucking awesome!

Ah ok. I'm almost certainly seeing Keran later on this evening, so I will remind him again.

Genteel Death 05.06.2010 01:36 PM

Ash Nav, Thought Forms and Fuck Knuckles I have emailed Keran today, if you are reading this. Check both your email and myspace inboxes, and then let me know what's happening. Thank you.

Genteel Death 05.08.2010 09:15 AM

Great.

Genteel Death 05.09.2010 12:13 PM

Charlie- Thought Forms comfirmed.

Florya 05.09.2010 04:08 PM

So it looks like all the other performers ARE guitar based.
Seems I may have been a little hasty in my enthusiasm.
I'll get in touch with Keren, see if he can reassure me.

Genteel Death 05.09.2010 07:00 PM

Get in touch with me as I am the one who put you on the bill.

I have.
Looks like I'm still playing.:)

Toilet & Bowels 05.10.2010 08:53 AM

I was thinking it might be fun to organise an SYG mini-tour around the festival, London-Supernormal-Bristol (if one of the Bristol boardies can do the honours), & Cardiff (if Iain can hook me up with a promoter there). Would Thought Forms, and Hakarl have any interest in this?

Glice 05.10.2010 08:58 AM

Ms Thought Forms is possibly the only promoter in Bristol who actually likes my music (or is exceptionally good at lying), so I reckon a yes is possible. Can we Charlie, can we can we can we?

Genteel Death 05.10.2010 12:07 PM

That'd be great!
Interesting fact I found out today while I was trying to contact someone who might be able to put me in touch with Broadcast: Ike of Fuck Knucles (who are from Birmingham like them) was once approached to play drums on one of their records. Wish me luck.

Genteel Death 05.20.2010 07:43 AM

Fuck Knuckles are and hopefully ike will persuade broadcast to play.

ni'k 05.20.2010 08:00 AM

genteel do you play live often?

this sounds like a really great oppurtunity for you.

DONT FUCK IT UP.

lol. good luck with it.

you get to play with some cool people.

Genteel Death 05.20.2010 09:44 AM

I have never played live. And many thanks.

ni'k 05.20.2010 09:47 AM

well thats a good first gig. at least you are not in some shitty pub with disinterested people and dont have your confidence destroyed.

if it was me id be bi polarin' out on everybody and being that spazzy nervous dude talking too much who at the very last minute before he's due to hit the stage says he doesn't want to play anymore and fucks up the scheduling for everybody. then i'd steal all their gear and pretend i didn't like their music anyway and tell everyone that i totally slayed and broadcast and ashtrays wanted to do a split with me but i was like nah you don't fit into the new aesthetic i'm exploring right now.

Genteel Death 05.20.2010 11:25 AM

well if you are still playing let me know and your dream of acting like that at a festival might come true. I'd feel too nervous about being on a stage to do anything other than play.

Toilet & Bowels 05.20.2010 11:51 AM

the last couple of shows I've played I've managed to get over the nervous weirdness that made me just stand on stage grinning like a spastic if I so much as looked at the audience.

Genteel Death 06.16.2010 12:06 PM

I've sent an update of sort to all the bands/solo artists I suggested Keran should put on the bill. Any further queries could you please direct them to his email address? Fuck Knuckles also passed on contact info for Broadcast, so if anything comes out of it he will know.

I got the leaflets for this last night. I'm going to take a bunch of them to the noise thing at the old blue last today. I understand glice and charlie are getting theirs via mail through keran. VVSR? Because there are late additions to the line up, some names are not on it and will have to be added by pen or something.

Genteel Death 07.10.2010 08:40 AM

Glice- couldn't find out about what decks we will use to DJ.

Genteel Death 07.10.2010 10:46 AM

There's a realistic chance we'll have David Hoyle added to the bill.

Ok, cool - plenty of time, I'd imagine that'd be quite a late consideration.

& Bowels - any joy over the weekend?

Also, how was the noise fest, those who went?

Toilet & Bowels 07.12.2010 03:56 PM

didn't go, i totally forgot. +no joy, i still need that party's phone number...

Oh, I texted it to you, I assumed because I hadn't heard back you'd got it. I lost my phone over the weekend, so I've no idea what it is myself.
