you all need to check out "High Tension." that movie was insane. and no one has mentioned "It." i know it's not the scariest movie but i fucking hate clowns so it really creeps me out.

Yeah I love all that trash......I have a buttload of horror movies. I've always been fascinated by horror characters from the old ones (Dracula/Creature from the Black Lagoon etc.) to the late 70's/80's slashers (Jason, Michael Myers, the Cennobites etc.).My favorite movie ever is The Shining, but I've prob. said that about a million times already on here.

I have Dracula on DVD, saw it at Blockbuster used for cheap, but the lack of music makes it surprisingly hard to watch. I think it comes with an optional score, though. I should watch it with that. That guy that went crazy in the boat was awesome, but that's really all I can remember. That and the worst bat I've ever seen.

Ha ha.....check out the Gary Oldman (1992 version) if you haven't already seen it. It's pretty good minus Keanu.

Anyone else somewhat amazed at all the similarities between it and The Ring (either incarnation, really)? It's not the same movie or anything, but there are a bunch of points that are alike if nothing else.

Frenzy-Probobly Hitchcock's darkest film, love it.
I may like Frenzy even more then Psycho though. Loved both.

Seven-I definately think that was a horrer. Supernatural movies don't scare me. But some of those serial killer films are really great. The first Saw was eh. And I haven't seen "Hostel", but if "Cabin Fever" was any indication, the movie can't be that great, CB was ridiculously laugahable, and I don't really think bloody gory films are that scary.

Most all David Lynch movies are psychological horror.

I like Scary movies.

i didnt think the ring was scary at all. dark water wasnt scary either, apart from maybe one little bit or something.

The ring didn't scare me either but i rate it as a movie.Dark Water(i assume that we are talking in both cases of the japanese versions of these movies) is no scary movie for sure.What a ridiculous concept,get a good plumber in,folks!!.And that ending is just soppy.

i'd say (beside many already mentioned) oldboy and mr.vengeance are quite unsettling movies.

i'm a bit of a horror veteran at this stage! saw one the other night called "parts of the family" by troma which i thought was pretty good. you should check it out

Saw is excellent, Saw 2 is even good.

i went to see Candyman in the cinema and i swear to god i wasnt right for about 2 weeks after, my Dad even kept me outa school for a day or two and he would NEVER let that happen, i couldnt sleep, i was walking around the house turning on lights at 4 am in the morning, watching that snowy reception on the TV, ANYTHING to occupy my mind.

I was fucked up, thats how much of a Mary i am when it comes to horror flicks.

Some people seemed disappointed but I thought the Rob Zombie directed House Of A 1000 Corpses was a really enjoyable comedy-horror film. And I liked the music too. I also enjoyed the "sequel" The Devils Rejects. Of course it was claimed that although it featured the same characters it wasn't a sequel at all. But Watching '1000 Corpses first would help you out in knowing what was going on. Both good films. The first one having the edge, I feel.

Certainly one of the greatest horror films ever made was Dario Argento's Suspiria. Not to everyone's taste, especially some younger people who have come to expect more in the way of special effects. But Suspiria is rightly considered a horror masterpiece and at times is truly chilling, relying on psychology rather than f/x. Though some of the scenes, especially that first butchery of the young girl, is indeed bloody, brutal and graphic.

Someone already mentioned the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Yes a thumbs up for that one too.

i am going to watch one these days but it s not a horror movie . it s a real horror . it s called BASQUIAT(a movie from Julian Schnabel;2003)
the actors are Jeffrey Wright(as B),David Bowie (as A.W),Gary Oldman, Dennis Hopper and Courtney Love.

'The Shinings' the best horror film ive seen, everything about it scares me. Ive also become scared of walking around my house cos i think the 2 girls will appear.
Check out 'American Werewolf in London' thats quite good. its quite funny too though (well it has got rik mayall in).

I don't actually think much of American Wearwolf In London. It has some funny parts in it. American Wearwolf In Paris was funnier though, I thought.

I never noticed Rik Mayall was in it.

The general consensus is always that Suspiria is the best Argento movie but i've always preferred Profondo Rosso(Deep Red) myself.
